A pair of Baltimore drug dealers threatened to shoot up the set of a new Natalie Portman show if they didn't stop filming on their block, but told production they could stay if they coughed up $50,000.
The incident went down around 4pm on Friday afternoon on the 200 block of Park Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn, when two men pointed a gun at a crewmember of the Apple TV+ show Lady in the Lake and made their demands.
According to the Baltimore Police Department, the 'locals' said they would 'come back later this evening [and] shoot someone' if they didn't stop filming, but would 'allow the production to continue' if they met their $50,000 demand.
'The leaders of the production decided to err on the side of caution and reschedule the shoot after they found another location,' police said.
Police confirmed the men were local drug dealers, according to The Baltimore Banner.
The studio creating the show, Endeavor Content, confirmed the incident in a statement to Deadline and said nobody was injured.
'Friday afternoon, on the Baltimore set of our production Lady in the Lake, prior to the arrival of the cast and crew, per their call time, a driver on our production crew was confronted by two men, one of whom brandished a gun directed at our driver, and then they fled the location.'
'We are working with the Baltimore Police Department as the investigation is ongoing. The safety and security of our crew, cast and all who work across our productions is our highest priority, and we are thankful no one was injured. Production will resume with increased security measures going forward.'

I guess the unemployment rate in Baltimore is so low that they don’t need an infusion of cash in the area by the production crew. Those drug dealers know what’s best for the people living in those areas, plus it’s nice to know the dealers have the support of local gov’t and the police.
Where is the law enforcement. Local or and state. Bust them. Use the military if you need to they should clean it up.
The two thugs made a fundamental mistake. They should have said the $50,000 was for reparations. Natalie Portman is a huge liberal. So I’m sure she would have coughed up the money. Heck, she might have even given them part ownership in the movie.
Anything less would have been hypocritical on Portman‘s part.
“Wonder if the big gal gets 10% ?”
Nope. Wrong color.
The drug dealers are branching out into a new business - shakedowns. I’m sure it will catch on in New York, DC and Philly.
Hightech megacompany subsidiary & liberal actress threatened by inner city drug dealers.
Trying hard to givadamn.
Baltimordor.
Liberal Hollywood types being extorted by ghetto thugs. Hummmmm! The liberal Hollywood mindset will argue that the people on the set were disrespecting the black thugs; the thugs have been disenfranchised by the rich white folk and therefore, the thugs have every right to extort $50K from the rich white folks.
Makes perfect sense to me! /s
Gotta wonder what idiot decided that was the best location to use in the first place.
The behavior in Baltimore is an "outlier" with respect to how Democrats run cities. Just look at model cities like Chicago, New York, LA, Portland, Seattle, and...oh, wait a minute...
At the risk of exposing my naivete, does this show have something in common with King Arthur and the Excalibur sword?
Remaking it with Negroes in the Baltimore ghetto is laughable. Natalie Portman is as featherweight as they come—a talentless twinkie nothing who got her start through family ties to Hollywood financiers.
They do this to ordinary tax-paying Americans. Why not do it to privileged Hollywood asswipes?
Use the military if you need to they should clean it up.
I think a cruise missile with a W80-1 set to max (150KT) should do it.
A demonstration of who clearly controls this once-fine city that has devolved into a sewer ... a dangerous sewer at that.
Serves then right for even filming in hell hole Baltimore.
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.
Probably Mexican drug cartel gangsters. That sounds like the SOP you find in Mexico.
It’s only fair.
The Apple+ production was interfering with their business and sales, so, the $50,000 demanded was to recoup the amount of sales lost.
Since crime is legal now, the drug dealers’ demands must be respected.
“Charm City” lmao
