I believe the Indians were discussing inter-city busses and the Germans are using the hydrogen to replace diesel in trains. So, no one is at this time is using hydrogen to drive from Atlanta to Denver. Though if there were hydrogen supplied filling station the drive would be no worse than stopping to put gasoline in your car. It’s not like an 8-hour recharge of a battery.

Hydrogen is not particularly safe when being transferred from one container to another. Are we talking liquid hydrogen or compressed gas?

NASA is not known for its sense of humor; however, a sign at the liquid hydrogen storage facility in Huntsville read, "Liquid Hydrogen. No Smoking. Violators will be vaporized".
