Bronx cop mugging suspect Oshawn Logan told police the attack on an off-duty NYPD was his “second, third time” carrying out such a crime, court papers state.
The complaint, filed Saturday in Bronx Criminal Court, says Logan and other members of the mugging crew took a credit card and other items from the officer, Muhammed Chowdhury, when they brutally beat down the off-duty cop as he went out for a jog.
“They got on him. The [credit] cards and whatever, they got from his wallet. I mean, everybody used the card,” said Logan, 18, according to the complaint.
The credit card was used in a Bronx store to buy “numerous” items, the complaint says.
“It’s like my second, third time doing this,” Logan told police, according to the complaint. “Third time. I just, I’m never doing this again.”
At arraignment in Bronx Criminal Court on Saturday afternoon, Judge Lisa Headley set Logan’s bail at $50,000 cash, according to a court clerk. Logan may also post a $100,000 insurance bond or a partially secured bond of $100,000, a percentage of which would have to put up in cash.

Republicans should run a montage of these sucker punches, carjackings, subway pushings, and flash mob lootings and put it on the Democrats.
That show is one of the most effective Republican campaign commercials I have ever seen. The story of the grandmother whose arm was ripped off during her carjacking was especially, uh, memorable.

So disappointing and surprising he is a person of color. All the internet and TV ads I see show them as kindly, gentle people with a good sense of humor and a caring attitude for people on vacation, shopping for a new car, buying insurance or going to fast food places.

I will jump in here and say I feel sorry for the naive and misled crime victims who buy into the cliche “he’s going away for a long, long time.” Maybe soon for this suspect? Or maybe not at all.
The “locked up” criminals, after a difficult trial with evidence suppressed, evidence ruled inadmissable to the jury and every trick in the book used by the defense, may go to prison but the years will be shortened. 15 may become 6. Or none as a prosecutor’s mistakes mean all his or her cases will be reviewed and most reversed, the prisoners let go again.
Unfortunately,RINO politicians in DC are the only reptiles in the world with no backbone. They are too afraid of being called rascist.
