Much more important than “green energy solutions” is energy independence. And where that is not feasible, diversifying your energy sources such that the loss of one or another doesn’t leave you with blackouts.
Germany replaced coal and nuclear with Russian gas despite Trump’s warnings, despite all logic. I suspect if you dig you’ll find not just environmental pandering but actual corruption.

Correct. The Elites never suffer the hardships/consequences of their policies, so the sheep are the “winners”.
