Ford is reportedly raising the price of the 2023 Mustang Mach-E electric vehicle by as much as $8,000 just a few weeks after increasing the price of its planned electric pickup truck the F-150 Lightning. Although the company blames inflation, supply chain problems, and “rapidly evolving market conditions,” the price hikes come just after Joe Biden’s climate and spending bill passed including electric vehicle rebates eerily similar to Ford’s price increases.
The Verge reports that Ford is raising the price of the 2023 Mustang Mach-E just a few weeks after increasing the price of its electric pickup truck, the F-150 Lightning. The automaker stated that it was reopening the order banks for the electric SUV with an adjusted MSRP due to “significant material cost increases, continued strain on key supply chains, and rapidly evolving market conditions.”

surprise ,surprise, about about the exact amount of the gov subsidy
And other folks think they’re getting a $7,500 tax credit for buying one. Pretty sure they don’t qualify under the rules. Sorry. 😵😲🤔
EV car and truck prices will get so high that, the only way to afford them is to get “EV mortgages”. Otherwise, not too many people will be able to get them if the terms for paying for them are with 7 years or less loans.
Ford/GM have a deal with the democrats and they’ll get as many secret bailouts as they need
After the loan is paid up, you can take out another one for the replacement battery pack.
Anybody seen Obama’s “Car Czar” Steve “the rat” Rattner lately?
Hey don’t forget the student loan money. Happy days are here again! /sarc
I believe I heard from Ford that their future plan is to not sell cars but to LEASE them.
I can’t visualize an all-electric Mustang, of all cars.
Biden wants everyone to own a EV car yet he doesn’t own one but get to play with his corvette.
aka finger to you pal
Same as it ever was
Was never going to buy one anyway.
I know what you mean.
“The Little Old Lady from Pasadena” wouldn’t have the same effect in an electric muscle car.
Yup, same with “my four-speed, dual-quad, Positraction 409” or “gotta be cool now, power shift here we go” from those great Beach Boys car songs.
Ford also laid off 3,000 office workers because they are gong all in on electric.
I’m betting that a quick scan of any minutes of any secret meetings between the car companies and this administration, it would be evident that the government is pushing all of this, promising the moon and, of course, the companies are responding to that information.
The CEOs, etc actually believe these morons. And I’m wondering what else is being offered. He just, without any authority, gave away a few hundred billion to folks that don’t want to pay back their student loans.
But...
You read a story like this, then you do some quick research and see this:
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-06-15/ford-says-mustang-mach-e-profit-wiped-out-by-commodity-costs ....
- Ford’s traditional vehicles are still paying for EV expansion
- CFO says carmaker is seeing a rise in auto loan defaults
“plug-in models are being rendered unprofitable by rising raw material costs” lets see: the EV nerds start doing cartwheels over new battery technology - the world finds out that the materials being used are being mined by child slaves in the Congo - Tesla, and everyone else, reverts to the old technology - the grid cannot handle the wet dream of government charging stations dotting the land, so CornPop’s $5,000,000,000 vanishes into someone’s pocket, with 10% going back to the Big Guy.
Are they legit cars? I guess. Do the buyers deserve $8500 of taxpayer money to buy one? Not a F**&ing chance.
Every bit of this is a scam to line the pockets of Congressional members that are heavily invested in them and their corporate puppet masters. Because, this industry and these companies will get a bail out, at some point.
And yet, they continue to build factories that will make vehicles that don’t work or ones that folks cannot afford.
$5billion plant coming to rural Georgia for EV trucks that no one wants.
