I despise these idiots. I was unable to go fishing for two years for no good reason. The place I go caters to American and nearly went under.
EVERYTHING about “COVID” is a LIE.
I think the issue was suddenly the top politicians were in the spotlight. They wanted to be seen doing “something.” Someone floated, “Hey, suppose we issue a travel ban. That won’t hurt anything, right?”
And there you go. Leadership being demonstrated and bragged about. Imagine how the media would have picked on them if they did nothing. (By the way, doing nothing is usually the right thing to do. It’s just tough when everyone is begging you to do “something.”)

We’ve known this all along. The “experts” had no idea what they were doing.
The ONLY “guidance” rooted in science were the early-on recommendations (no different from seasonal flu):
Cover your cough
Avoid touching your face
Frequently wash your hands
Anything beyond that was theatrics rooted in hysterics.
Precious little, if anything, Covid related had any scientific basis.
It was political theater and a blatant power grab.
