Security guards at several high-end stores in the West Village and Soho say they feel like sitting ducks as thieves loot their stores in broad daylight with no consequences.
The two NYC nabes — and their high-end shops — have become a target for enterprising robbers, like the group of seven men and women who sauntered into the Lululemon store on 14th Street and 9th Avenue around noon on Aug. 16 and made off with close to $30,000 in stolen goods.
The gang grabbed clothing and other gear and stuffed them into large sacks and a shopping cart, walking nonchalantly by a security guard who appeared on video to do nothing to stop them. One man carried a huge pile of apparel overflowing in his arms.

I received an email today from Redfin real estate there was a 400 square foot
co-op for sale in the Broncs the place was a shit hole, $300,000 PLUS there is rent for garage parking $450.00 a month, PLUS there is a maintenance fee of $750.00 a month, PLUS there is a shared co-op fee of $745.00 a month ALL of this on top of your $300,000 mortgage payment!! OMG the place was an OLD red brick 3 story building with window AC’s hanging in all the windows the pics of the inside the place was TRASH who in the hell can afford to live in that swill pit of a state!!

the only solution for high-end retail stores is to do what jewelers in Kowloon do: install man-tramp vestibules that admit only one or two at a time after careful scrutiny ... either that or go online only ...
It certainly makes sense for paying customers to buy here - you know you’re paying for their stuff AND yours.
I live a dozen miles west of NYC and haven’t been there in decades. These discussions about their crime, tolls, “congestion pricing”...meaningless.
The best way to take care of this would be to shoot the thieves.
