heralding the freeing up of peoples at the end of the
U. S. S. R. It was supposed to be a good thing,

Has the United States ceased to exist, and Alaska and
Hawaii declared a declaration of independence that has

Russia even signed a treaty to recognizing Ukrainian independence on December 8, 1991, called the Belovezh Accords.

Crimea voted that they wanted to join Russia, and two areas in the Donbass decided to opt out of the coup and become independent republics. Ukraine attacked them for it.
