“Thanks, how much do I owe you? -5 euros.”
“I generally have a pretty good sense of humor. I read this joke 3 times and don’t get it.
What am I missing?”
My wife and I visited the Vatican Museum .. . it was a hot day in Rome. The FIRST thing I did when we exited the museum was to go to a curbside beverage cart and ordered a Diet Coke.. .”Thanks, how much do I owe you? -5 euros.” IT’S FUNNY BECAUSE IT’S TRUE!
Dude .. . 5 euros is about $7.50 .. .
IMAGINE paying $7.50 for a DIET COKE ( chuckle ) .. .
That’s an obscure joke.
Meaningless.
You can’t take dividends out of Russia.
Foreign investors can’t sell their investments.
Exporters have to convert half their proceeds into Rubles.
And there’s very few transactions occurring.
At this point the ruble is so manipulated, it’s a meaningless exchange rate.
Nobody except the few is still paying it. China and India to the extent they are buying oil are demanding deep discounts.
Because their trade relationships with the US dwarf that of their relationships with Russia.
Nyet...when your exports are essential raw materials the world can't do without
Russia is making more money selling less energy than ever before, while Europe scrambles to keep its lights on and bread on the table.
Thread winner!!
Russia got taken over by Europe
Euro’s not rubles
Thank you to all who responded.
My thick skull deflected the delicate punchline.
Lol. You have to be kidding. Putin is an atheist.
China and India are buying less oil and gas even though they’re getting it at a huge discount.
No one have ever taken over Russia except for the Mongols. So yeah, this isn't it. I understand it now but I'm not 🤣 because this isn't a realistic possibility.
What I got out of it was that the Euro is the de facto currency of Russia. I don’t know how true it is.
Presumably there is a black market in Russia which trade in Western currencies. I’m sure that was the case in the days of the USSR...probably less true today.
All of that and until recently Russian savers were paid 20%... Yes, they are locked into rubles for some time.
I do hope the USD deposit rate doesn’t go anywhere near half that?
But biden could do it? He and his puppet masters are that out of touch.
“Not getting it either.”
Russia is not part of the EU, and Putin had to pay in Euros implying that Putin lost his bid to remake the USSR.
