ord Motor Co. is cutting about 3,000 white-collar jobs as it attempts to lower costs and shift from internal combustion to electric vehicles.

Leaders of the Dearborn, Michigan, automaker made the announcement Monday in a companywide email obtained by CBS News, saying that 2,000 full-time salaried workers would be let go along with another 1,000 contract workers.

The cuts represent about 6% of the 31,000 full-time salaried work force in the U.S. and Canada. Ford's 56,000 union factory workers are not affected. Some workers also will lose jobs in India.

Executive Chairman Bill Ford and CEO Jim Farley said in the email that Ford will provide benefits and significant help for the workers to find new jobs.

"We have a duty to care for and support those affected – and we will live up to this duty — providing not only benefits but significant help to find new career opportunities," the email said.

These car companies seem to be going all in on electric cars.

WILL critical masses of car buyers go for those cars?

I seldom hear anyone talk about, how are we going to develop the electrical generation capacity to recharge all of these electric cars overnight.

These companies are run by fools. It is impossible to match their production of combustible engine cars with the production of EVs. Not only will buyers resist, but a majority will not be able to afford these electric pieces of crap. The destruction of millions of acres through strip mining will be necessary to gather the lithium, cobalt, and nickel used in the batteries. Arsenic mineral by products will be piled up and washed away in the rain polluting rivers and ground water. People near these mines will die from breathing arsenic laced dust and pollution from the diesel mining equipment. The fools are setting up the biggest environmental disaster in history by chasing this stupid green new deal bullshit without understanding the consequences. When all is said and done, any automobile manufacturer that chased this moronic fad to such a large extent will be finished.

Heard the Chrysler-Fiat guy say a couple of weeks ago that they are going who hog for electric and it may mean job cuts.
Said if they don’t go all out at once and risk all then they could look over the fence someday and see the rivals who did the all electric thing ahead of them.

They and Ford have made some absurd word salad euphemisms about hoping most will be on board but don’t know. In other words, you job and our family’s future may be shafted to make the young idiots’ dream of EVs a reality.

I hate electric.

I have a DVD version of the movie that liberals hate THE LAST CHASE with Lee Majors.

Everyone in America is forced to take electrical cars and ride bicycles while the govt confiscates cars. He hid his sports car underground and drives out westward while the idiot govt doesn’t have anything faster than EV’s to chase him except an old fighter jet. This is where we’re headed..

They already begged people to not plug their cars in overnight in areas where they were having high demand this summer.

That will become the norm.

If you get rid of gas heating and stoves and water tanks, everything in the house is electric. Lose power and everything is down. Now your car is electric. Now you cant go anywhere, either.

I want a new R regime to legislate EVs pay their way by utilizing ONLY certifiable 100% green-generated electricity. Zero fossil input as fuel for any “green” locomotion.

There is a reason that for over a century electric cars have been unable to compete with Internal Combustion cars. They suck in too many ways to mention. Only Government meddling has even made them viable. The people behind the meddling hate America and are pushing this sabotage upon us.
