….Anchor Roop Raj then asked Dixon about whether she would support terminating the pregnancy of a 14-year-old rape victim.
Dixon replied that she had spoken to people who were the children of rape victims and that "the bond that those two people made and the fact that out of that tragedy there was healing through that baby, it's something that we don't think about."
"We assume that that story is someone who was taken from the front yard, then returned," she told Raj.
"Those voices—the babies of rape victims—that have come forward are very powerful when you hear their story and what the truth is behind that. It's very hard to not stand up for those people," she said.
As of Saturday morning, the video of the interview from Friday had been viewed nearly half a million times. Newsweek has contacted Planned Parenthood of Michigan for comment…

BEYOND F’G CLUELESS
“Yep. And Dixon sure helped them with his stupid and insensitive bonding comment.”
Agree, but if the GOP wouldn’t spend all its time and money trying to chasing out qualified pro-Trump candidates, they very well might end up with candidates who are NOT total idiots, like this guy appears to be.
Exactly. Our biggest problem right now is that good people don’t want to get into the mud, and frankly who can blame them.
The correct Answer to stupid questions like this is “would you be OK to abortion ban if it allowed exception for rape and incest incest?”
They will never answer that question because they want abortion under any conditions at any time up until the moment of birth and sometimes afterwards.
It wasn’t Dixon’s comment; it was her retelling of what the people told her. Would you have Dixon not speak of what she has been told so that Newsweek readers won’t think she is insensitive? Now is not a time to speak meekly.
“And to think Biden only had to hide in his basement to get elected.”
He didn’t win though. So, he needed more than hiding in the basement. He needed corrupt Establishment Dems and RINOs, laws broken in absentee balloting, Needed thousands of Mules, corrupt counters, watchers roped off 10 feet away, windows covers to prevent watchers, turnout in hundreds of precincts near 100% participation, judges to look the other way, dropbox videos destroyed, absentee ballot envelopes destroyed, nursing homes voting 100% Biden, Military voting over 85% Biden, etc... the list is amazingly long and required republican participation to exist.
The media is going to try to hem up every GOP candidate by questioning their pro-life bonafides in order to elicit the answer that abortion should be illegal in almost all circumstance, a position that is toxic throughout most of the country.
The position that abortion should be allowed anytime for any reason is equally as toxic but Democrat candidates won't be pressed on the issue by the media.
Republicans are going to have to figure out how to thread this needle between retaining their pro-life base while appealing to the more moderate swing voters that they'll need to win statewide elections, a task that is now further complicated in light of the Dobbs ruling.
Liberals always focus on tiny emotional exceptions to the rule as their argument
Best to allow that exception and move on
Long game
Don’t get bogged down and give them free ammo
Ironically at some point we all came from rape
Best on this issue
Allow exceptions and move on
God cares how we act
You mean flip the question around using a modicum of rhetorical skill so the other guy is staking out the extreme, unpopular position? Like normal politicians do? That’s way too much to ask from the latest crop of dipshit candidates.
When the subject of rape comes up it’s a trap by the MSM. Tudor walked right into it. WTG. The answer should be “I am pro life. Next question.”
Dixon (and every GOP politician) should refrain from giving the Left ammunition. We are in a fight for the Republic. Let’s not help our opponents.
That doesn’t mean we have to be meek, or pull any punches! It does mean we have to be smart. One can make a strong argument against abortion without drifting off into “bonding” stories. Those sound bites can and will be used against you.
Instead talk about the innocent unborn child, and how he or she can feel the horrific pain of an abortion. That will hit home.
By the way, I have nothing against Dixon. I assume that she is a good and competent person. She’s just got to a little more careful. It’s not a level playing field out there.
I mostly agree but allow me to nitpick slightly on your last point.
This is the kind of stupid statement that gets Repubs to lose elections. These morons don’t know when to put a lit on it.
Innocent.
So Republican candidates have to live in constant fear of saying something inappropriate but the left gets a free pass. What a bunch of puss(y) willows.
The same people who are criticizing Tudor Dixon are the same ones who suffered post traumatic stress disorder over Trump’s tweets.
Thanks, I saw that on other comments, and don’t get me wrong, I’d is vote for her, and more...
She should just do what Democrats do. Lie about it until after she's safely elected and then claim she's "evolved" on the issue.
> So Republican candidates have to live in constant fear of saying something inappropriate but the left gets a free pass. <
Not fear. But they certainly must be more careful, and more on the alert.
It’s a damn shame, but we all know that it’s not a level playing field. For example, Biden can say nakedly racist things and the media ignores it. But everything Trump says is analyzed 15 different ways for possible racist content.
So we could be bold and reckless, and have our words used against us. Or we can be careful (and still forceful) , and maybe win a few elections.
Like I said, it’s a shame. But it is what it is.
