The Nord Stream 1 pipeline, which supplies gas from Russia to Europe under the Baltic Sea, will be shut down for three days from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2 as its only remaining gas compressor requires maintenance, Gazprom said on Friday.
The closure will bring further disruption to Europe's gas supplies with the pipeline already running at only 20% of its capacity, with Gazprom previously citing the need to repair other compressors, and fears Russia could halt supplies completely heading into the winter heating season.
After maintenance is complete, flows of 33 million cubic metres (mcm) a day - in line with current volumes - will resume, it said.

As a result of the offensive actions of the allied forces in the Kharkiv region , on August 14, 2022, units of the 58th motorized infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defeated in the area of the settlement of Udy. Under the onslaught of Russian troops, the remnants of the formation fled from their positions and left this settlement. To suppress panic and intimidate the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the nationalists of the Kraken armed formation exponentially shot 100 servicemen of the 58th motorized infantry brigade who left their positions.
Between this and the upcoming aviation campaign and the new brigades being formed we are going to see a lot of activity over the next month.
