It is just too bad horrendous that Putin is unable to reason that Ukraine is a sovereign nation

Maybe you apply that comment to the Obama regime in 2014 when we setoff a coup that lead to a democratically-elected President being thrown out office illegally and caused a civil war.

Coups have consequences. In this case, those in Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk wanted independence or some level of autonomy.

You just can't seem to grasp reality -- that what is happening in Ukraine is the conclusion of civil war we helped start.

Russia only wanted a guarantee that Ukraine wouldn't join NATO and would remain neutral and the Minsk Agreement, which would have granted US state-like autonomy to Donetsk and Lugansk, when this started.

“Coups have consequences. In this case, those in Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk wanted independence or some level of autonomy.”

You fail to see that the coup, your term, is the overthrow of a lawful government through illegal means as what Russia attempted to accomplish in Donetsk and Lugansk.

An interesting time-capsule is clearly presented in the illegal 2014 coup is found in the photo journalism series “Russian Roulette in Ukraine.”

Huh? The illegal act was the Maidan revolution, that WE fomented, that through democratically-elected President out of office via an insurrection.

And, no, disenfranchised by an illegal coup shouldn't have to remain part of a government formed illegal.

But, look at the hypocrisy here. We support independence of Kosovo but reject for Donetsk and Lugansk. We condemn the alleged J6 insurrection but supported the insurrection in Ukraine.

If you can't see the double standards, you don't want to.

We should never have stuck our noses in Ukraine to begin with.

“You fail to see that the coup, your term, is the overthrow of a lawful government through illegal means as what Russia attempted to accomplish in Donetsk and Lugansk.”

THE LONGER HISTORIC VERSION: LOL

The Ukrainian Presidential history you imply is incorrect. The accuracy of events and persons is extremely important.

7 February 2010 Yanukovych won election saying “Ukraine’s integration with the EU REMAINS our strategic aim”, with a “balanced policy, which will protect our national interests both on our eastern border – I mean with Russia – and of course with the European Union.”

In DECEMBER 2004-2010, YANUKOVVCH HIRED AMERICAN POLITICAL CONSULTANT PAUL MANAFORT AS AN ADVISER. MANAFORT WAS TO REHABILITATE YANUKOVVCH POLITICAL CAREER AFTER THE ORANGE REVOLUTION.

[In 2006, a criminal charge was made for the falsification of documents regarding the retraction of Yanukovych’s prior conviction. Two documents had been forged regarding Yanukovych’s robbery in association with rape and assault and battery. Yanukovych had been a member of “a group of individuals who brutally beat and raped a woman, but bought off the victim and the criminal case was closed.” The signature of the judge for these documents was forged.]

In Jaroslav Krejci’s “Great Revolutions Compared: The Outline of a Theory provides a useful conceptual framework with which to study revolution” Revolution is not a single event, but rather a period of a “revolutionary process.”

Yanukovych had an estimated net worth of $12 billion, misappropriating funds from Ukraine’s treasury of $70 billion transferred to foreign accounts during Yanukovych’s presidency. Switzerland, Austria and Liechtenstein froze the assets of Yanukovych and his son Oleksander on 28 February 2014 pending his money laundering investigation.

***BTW, during the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych, more than 7,000 Ukrainian companies were attacked by the so-called “Yanukovych Families” [think mofioso] including cases of the ‘Family’ entering the corporate rights of the firms by illegal methods, and “assaults” in order to obtain “tribute” of commercial gain. The victims of Yanukovych’s ‘family’ raiders were offered to pay a regular “tribute” in the amount of 30–50% of the company’s profits or cede ownership of it.

The same day that parliament removed Yanukovych from office, it voted to authorize the release of his rival Yulia Tymoshenko from a prison hospital. She had been imprisoned since 2011, in what many saw as political payback by Yanukovych. Ukraine economy had suffered greatly because of PUTIN’S PUPPET President Viktor Yanukovych. After a long series of protests of his rejection of his prior Ukrainian-European Association Agreement the Euromaidan protests started because Ukrainian citizens demanded stronger integration with the European Union.

***The EUROMAIDAN began in Independence Square on 21 November, THE SAME DAY Yanukovych abruptly changed his mind for an Association Agreement with the European Union AFTER RECEIVING A LOAN FROM PUTIN! YANUKOVVCH THEN decided to strengthen economic ties with Russia.***

When the sovereign nation of Ukraine chose to join NATO PUTIN WAS ENRAGED! How dare Ukraine attempt to dissolve his dreams to restore the Russian empire!

On 20 FEBRUARY 2014, PUTIN INVADED UKRAINE TO SALVAGE HIS LOST INFLUENCE IN UKRAINE! This invasion of Ukraine was ENTIRELY PUTIN’S DECISION. Encouraged by Russian troops & politicians, pro-Russia separatist rebels began to seize territory in eastern Ukraine.

INTERESTINGLY, also on 21 February 2014, Yanukovych claimed he had reached an agreement with the opposition. SECRETLY, YANUKOVVCH RAN AWAY FROM THE CAPITOL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT TO MOSCOW!

THEN ON 22 FEBRUARY 2014, the Ukrainian parliament VOTED to remove YANUKOVVCH from his post and schedule new elections on the grounds that he “has restrained himself from performing his constitutional duties” and effectively resigned.

Fighting between the Ukrainian Donbas rebels and the Ukrainian military intensified. In August, when these rebels started losing the Russian army NOW overtly invaded eastern Ukraine to support the rebels & take-over Crimea. This illegitimate action resulting in a 2014 Crimean referendum that is regarded as illegal internationally because the whole of Ukraine is required to vote with both options on the ballot to result in a separation from Ukraine.

FYI, on 3 October 2014, several news agencies reported, Anton Gerashchenko & Viktor Yanukovych had been granted Russian citizenship by a “secret decree” of Vladimir Putin.

On 18 June 2015, Yanukovych was officially deprived of the title of president by the parliament. On 24 January 2019, he was sentenced in absentia to thirteen years’ imprisonment for high treason by a Ukrainian court.

CONSEQUENTLY, PUTIN launched a full-scale UKRAINE INVASION 2 on 24 February 2022. On 2 March, Ukrayinska Pravda reported that Ukrainian intelligence sources believed that Yanukovych was currently in Minsk, Belarus and that it was Russia’s intention to declare Yanukovych as President of Ukraine in the event of Russian forces gaining control of Kyiv.

FOR GOOD REASON, Ukrainian social polls regard Yanukovych as the worse president in Ukrainian history.

Like it or not, Yanukovych was elected through, legal and democratic means with support of the majority in Crimea, Donetsk, Lugansk and other oblasts in eastern Ukraine. Those people were disenfranchised by the coup. The Ukrainian nationalists and neo-Nazis that took over PERSECUTED AND MURDERED ethnic Russians after the coup.

If you find any of that acceptable as well the war crimes being committed by the Ukrainian military in this war, YOU ARE EVIL You can your neocon buddies that support all this can burn in hell.

This war is conclusion of an eight-year civil war that OUR interference started. WE are responsible for everything taking place.
