People need to leave at the first sign of decay
The nearest town next to me is 10K people and they are wanting to revitalize the historic downtown and expect tourist and the population to go downtown again. Until they deal with the roaming homeless that is pie in the sky. There are homeless living under bridges and in wooded areas near buildings stealing electricity.
The politicians will work themselves up and decide to turn the police loose and move them on and before the job is done their liberal tendencies and a few so-called advocates will call out the politicians and local churches for allowing this to go on, are you not Christians they will wail and they back down. Keep in mind the homeless advocates who do this don’t do anything to help the homeless but will use guilt of others to assuage their guilt and push their political agendas.
