It's famine or feast for American restaurants right now.
Establishments in deep-blue cities that faced both excessive COVID-19 restrictions plus violent protests in 2020 are starved for diners, according to global data.
The same source shows that Sun Belt boomtowns in Florida, Texas and Arizona are busier than ever and enjoying a massive surge in restaurant business this year.
The divide between the two is startling.
The number of daily diners in the city of Minneapolis was down an average of 54.3% in July — so the city had less than half the number of people eating out, compared with July 2019, according to OpenTable.
It’s the worst recovery of any city in the world tracked by the restaurant reservation service.
The state of Florida, meanwhile, has four of the top six surging cities in America, with the average number of people dining out in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Naples and Tampa up nearly 30% from July 2019 to July 2022.
"Minneapolis needs to clean up its act," Greg Urban, a Minnesota businessman who owns Wild Greg's Saloons in Minneapolis, told Fox News Digital.
He also operates three other themed nightlife hotspots in Austin, Texas; Pensacola, Florida; and Lakeland, Florida.
Minneapolis enacted two years of onerous executive-order lockdown policies starting in March 2020.
The mandates included two statewide periods of extended take-out only options for restaurants in the spring of 2020 and again in the winter of 2020-21.
The city also enacted a vaccine mandate for restaurants in January 2022 that it lifted in February after facing a lawsuit from local businesses; it nearly voted to defund its police last year; and it's in the midst of a massive crime surge.

More demonrat graft should fix it
Where I’m at in Fla many restaurants can’t find enough help
Who wants to have dinner in the middle of a drug encampment full of bums while bullets fly past?
I wonder if BLM type thugs still confront diners in outside seating in NYC and jeer at them, dump their food and knock them off their chairs? Old viral videos may have cut down a few people from the restaurants’ clientele.

My big hope for Florida and other states that have experienced an influx of new residents is that the newcomers don’t import the dominant political views of the states from which they’ve fled.
Just bought two hamburgers at a fast food restaurant - over $17.00. That did include an order of fries which I didn’t receive.
Inflation is much more than eight percent.
Blows my mind how crowded local restaurants are here. Doesn’t anyone cook? LOL
But then again, only the biggest/blue-est cities in GA ever got away with shutting down retail. Here in N Ga, that noise never really happened.
Not very appetizing to be eating lunch or dinner while some bum is taking a dump on the sidewalk right in front of you.

because Minn. was ground zero for LBM and Pantifa, and they made sure to destroy the city. I was watching a youtube channel for a business that was moving from the city and you can read between the lines, the real reason why they were moving. It was not in their top 10 but everyone on the comments knew..
All able bodied patriots! Report immediately to your nearest Southern city and start over. Your work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit will be welcome by your fellow citizens and minimalist local government.
I was back in Minneapolis visiting friends.
I was shocked!
Parts of Minneapolis look worse than they did when I was in high school back a long time ago.
Other parts which used to be good are now destroyed.
The Jewish community near the lakes seems to be isolating themselves from the radicals but its clearly coming their way.
In 20 years, its going to be Detroit II.
Which fast food restaurant?
here in L.A., multiple McD’s already offer $18 to start in BIG SIGNS and they are still having a hard time filling those positions..
Criminals in these cities hold up customers in outside eating areas.
Paid rioters from Communist organizations such as Black Lives MatterTM can harass customers with impunity:

To work at Mickey Ds isn’t it a prerequisite to have a nasty attitude?
That’s been most of my experiences
“did include an order of fries which I didn’t receive”
You didn’t shoot the person that forgot your fries did you? I hear that’s the new customer feedback response nowadays.
I haven’t been to McD’s in months but I do like their coffee, I will admit. Better than the crayon dipped in water called Starbucks.
For that price, I can buy a good steak and grill it at home.
