They’re talking about a young adult comic book adaptation (graphic novel) of the classic. I’ve found most of those adaptations to be vehicles of indoctrination.

When I was a lad we had comic book versions of classic novels—Classics Illustrated I think they were called. But back then, school libraries didn’t have them, libraries had things called books that we were encouraged and expected to read.
