Wind energy boom and golden eagles collide in the US West
phys ^ | 08/17/2022

The rush to build wind farms to combat climate change is colliding with preservation of one of the U.S. West's most spectacular predators—the golden eagle—as the species teeters on the edge of decline.

Ground zero in the conflict is Wyoming, a stronghold for golden eagles that soar on 7-foot (2-meter) wings and a favored location for wind farms. As wind turbines proliferate, scientists say deaths from collisions could drive down golden eagle numbers considered stable at best.

Yet climate change looms as a potentially greater threat: Rising temperatures are projected to reduce golden eagle breeding ranges by more than 40% later this century, according to a National Audubon Society analysis.

That leaves golden eagles doubly vulnerable—to the shifting climate and to the wind energy promoted as a solution to that warming world.

"We have some of the best golden eagle populations in Wyoming, but it doesn't mean the population is not at risk," said Bryan Bedrosian, conservation director at the Teton Raptor Center in Wilson, Wyoming. "As we increase wind development across the U.S., that risk is increasing."

Wind Farms destroy the planet and save nothing

Right - except bats are not cleaned up or counted. Any birds that get smacked into the brush stay there. Just what is easily visible is cleaned up.

I read a article just this week about how night-time temps have been higher this summer, something I noticed too. It’s because of high humidity, heat island effect and a summer wind pattern coming from the gulf. For the last two months, we have not seen a night-time low below 70. Most nights, it only dropped to 72.

Of course, what caused it is irrelevant, it pushes the average temps a little higher, even though actual high temps this summer have been less than other years, or so it seems, from my observations.

The website WattsUpWithThat has done a great deal of research into the placement of the ‘official’ thermometers and found in many cases, thermometers that were in pastoral settings 20-30 years ago, are now next to parking lots, AC units and other heat sources - which of course gives inaccurate readings... but inaccurate in a GOOD way for the climate alarmists.

“...now have these ghastly monstrosities killing bats.”

They kill bats like crazy, very bad as bats eat a LOT of mosquitos. We are upsetting the balance of nature with these idiotic fans. The bats avoid the turning blades with ease due to their echolocation ability, but the turbulence crushes their lungs as they fly through.

And I hate solar panel farms even worse than the windmill farms.

There’s a spot in the Adirondacks in NYS near Lowville that is like that.

Some one explain to me why wind turbines don’t cause Global Warming?
= = =

Agree.

And add that solar panels interrupt the sun reaching the ground. This will affect the ground heat profile and all the plant and animal life in the area.

Climate change is the current reigning king of the left’s issues so nothing gets in the way of their plans, nothing!

Meanwhile-—American Airlines is ordering 30 SUPER SONIC aircraft.

What is their propulsion going to be ???

A lot of the Official government weather stations are on roof tops.

Convent place for monitoring equipment hook up to networks and for maintenance.

But worthless of getting accurate readings.

The Global Warmist will tell you that they can mathematically adjust for the inaccuracy but of course it is them who decide the mathematical formula that is used to make the adjustment.

IF the predicted climate changes happen…track record on such climate predictions is close to zero…and if it gets too hot for the birds couldn’t the birds simply relocate further north to cooler areas? We have seen many species alter their usual habitat in response to a variety of factors… so what’s the problem?

The windmills have long been known to indiscriminately chop up birds including threatened species. Don’t these windmill farms require an environmental impact statement for their construction? Any other projects would be halted or subject to unending lawsuits if they do much a potentially harm some almost unknown critter.

Wind turbines are a horrible creation. The money spent on land, materials and manufacturing them is always orders of magnitude more than the value of the electricity they generate over a relatively short service life. The blades are scrapped and buried.

Parasitic drag increases rapidly with speed. It requires significantly more power to go a little faster at some point. Much of the effort to build supersonic fighter aircraft goes into reducing parasitic drag and heat generation on surfaces. The balance goes into the power plant. Find the Northrop Youtube video on creation of the YF-23 prototypes. The effort directed to "super cruise" speaks directly to fuel economy in supersonic operation.

Why can’t the electrical windmill have the same rules as reservoirs?

Libtards don’t care about the damage they cause from their misguided green crap as long as it gives them power
