A leak was discovered earlier this year in a massive pipeline that delivers water from the Colorado River into Southern California, according to a joint news release from Glendale Water & Power, Foothill Municipal Water District and the Crescenta Valley Water District.
A temporary repair was made to allow the pipe, which measures almost 9 feet 8 inches in diameter, to continue to function at a reduced capacity but now the permanent components are ready for installation and the pipeline will need to be shut off.
The increased conservation call includes the cities of Beverly Hills, Burbank, Glendale, Long Beach, Pasadena, San Fernando, San Marino, and Torrance, as well as for areas served by the Central Basin Municipal Water District, Foothill Municipal Water District, Three Valleys Municipal Water District and West Basin Municipal Water District, according to the news release.

Welcome to Hotel Newsom-fornia.
It's one thing to go "retro", but I don't think we need to be so aggressive and go back to the Stone Age.
They couldn’t pay me to live in that state.
Hey, everybody along the Colorado River Watershed, please flush your toilets, California needs the water.
That is NOT a REDUCED FUNCTION——
THAT IS NO FUNCTION !!!!!!!
Nice of them to wait until the hottest time of the year to start this.

200 to 400 % predicted increase in California floods this drought.
Climate change blamed.
>>”… which measures almost 9 feet 8 inches…”
I guess the writer just didn’t care about fractions or millimeters. At what resolution of measurement is it OK to stop using “almost”?
A little off topic but I remember back in the 70’s my dad had the entire front and back yards of our new house completely sodded and paid 20 grand out of his own pocket - no loan. A major drought started 3 days later and 90 degree heat. Dad came to me and my little brother with tears in his eyes asking if we would help manning the sprinklers and moving them around to save his investment. I was 14 and my brother was 12. We worked for 12 days solid, 24/7 in 4 hour shifts to save that lawn. Neither of us got more than 2 or 3 hours sleep a night. When it finally rained and the sod took hold the look of sheer joy and happiness on my fathers face is one of the greatest memories of my childhood. I truly think that’s when I went from a boy to a man.
CA has blow hundreds of billions subsidizing millions of illegals...So no money for their crumbling infrastructure.
Thanks for sharing. Nothing like working to save something for your family.
