He was an idiot for what he said regarding the attack (something like “I didn’t do it, but if I did, it was legal, since the age of consent was 16 back then”).
He would have been fine if he handled it right.

The guy was just an awful, tone-deaf, unlikable candidate who has never appealed to more than just a narrow base of voters. Riding a horse to a campaign appearance and waving a gun on stage at a rally didn't gain that dude a single vote.

Riding a horse to a campaign appearance and waving a gun on stage is very “Alabama.” I can understand if some detest southern culture, but please let it go. He is great person, and its too bad we do not have him in our current fight. He would not be sitting around waiting to see which way the wind will blow like many of the Republican Establishment.
