GOP Senate Campaign Arm Is Pulling Ads in Three Key Races
News.yahoo.com ^ | 8/15/22 | Ryan Bort

Posted on 08/15/2022 2:45:22 PM PDT by cotton1706

The National Republican Senatorial Committee is canceling $10 million worth of fall advertising reservations in Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin — three states at the center of the GOP’s push to regain control of Congress. The New York Times, which reported the news on Monday, notes Republicans have been struggling to raise money as of late, as well as that the decision to pull ads for some of its top candidates could be tied to the party’s financial troubles.

The NRSC has cut the most money, $5 million, in Pennsylvania, where quack TV doctor Mehmet Oz is taking on Lt. Governor John Fetterman. Oz’s campaign has been fraught, to say the least, and current polling averages currently have him losing to the Democrat by more than 10 percentage points. Oz narrowly edged out David McCormick in the state’s Republican primary behind the strength of former President Donald Trump’s endorsement. Members of the Republican establishment, and even Trump’s circle, had lined up to back McCormick for fear that Oz couldn’t beat Fetterman.

The committee also cut more than $2 million in both Arizona, where Trump-backed Blake Masters is up against incumbent Sen. Mark Kelly, and Wisconsin, where incumbent Republican Sen. Ron Johnson is trying to fend off rising Democratic star Mandela Barnes, who won his primary last week. Polling averages have Masters trailing Kelly by more 10 points. There isn’t much polling for the matchup between Johnson and Barnes, but the race is expected to be a close one, making the NRSC’s move to cut bait — at least $2 million worth of it — all the more surprising.

The GOP stands for nothing, everybody knows it, when a man (by no means a Republican) was elected President to burnish their tired brand, they did everything they could to frustrate him and eventually to get him out since his goals were diametrically opposed to core GOP values.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Exactly right. There are no more rabid Trump haters on the planet than those found in the GOP!

Wouldn’t matter if people didn’t sit on their behinds and keep their wallets closed for these candidates. Their opponents are raking in the cash easily.

You are so wrong and ridiculous about the PA Senate race.

I don’t even know why I wasted a whole minute to reply to you.

Nothing can put OZ on top.

He already spent more money in the primary than both parties spent in the general election last senate election to get 31% of the Republican vote…

Nothing is going to make OZ electable.. utterly off brand and a complete fraud.

MAGA can’t save him, because he’s not remotely MAGA and the people of PA know it… even booed when he was introduced by Trump at his Erie rally…

If OZ winds up losing by less than 5 on Election Day it will be a miracle.

Johnson is one of three non-Bush Leaguers up this time that deserve re-election.
He’s asking questions they really don’t want asked.

It didn’t sound like Kelly was doing so good. He voted for all AZ is standing against since the open border has AZ flooded with all kinds of illegals.. and Mexico is exploding with the cartels burning cars and shooting people.. they are at the Texas border also.
People who live in it, know who has done this... I don’t think Kelly is in a good position.

The only polls shows Kelly with a significant lead over all of the GOP candidates that were running. However, the dust has yet to settle following the primary. Kelly is polling in the mid 40s. If Masters starts to solidify GOP support now that the primary is over, he should move into a tie in the polls, I would think.

Should Rs win the house AND the senate, pressure would be on Mitch to do something. He doesn’t want control of the senate to push MAGA ideas. POS

There are several GOP fluffers that come on here to keep us on the plantation and ignoring the man behind the curtain.
He is one of them.

He’s already polling over 50%. Unless something happens to damage Fetterman’s popularity, it doesn’t matter if Oz gets 100% of the undecided vote with those kinds of numbers. Oz’s negatives were sky high with even a majority of Republicans disapproving of him in the primary. He should have come straight out of the gate pushing hard to reverse those negatives...he did not - his opponent has already defined him, and his opponent was able to define himself. Many races are won or lost during the summer. Oz did exactly what he needed to do in order to lose it.

The NRSC has plenty of money. They would rather lose to Democrats than help conservative candidates win.

The border is worse every day.. the drug cartel is in terrorism mode this week. kelly has voted for things AZ does not want... and kelly is not a nice person... Masters on with Kari for an hour. She is the right person to be on with.

I don’t think it’s a tie.. my opinion from common sense and voters today compared to voters a month ago.

Johnson typically runs behind in polls until very close to election day

If it’s close that means he is ahead

Barnes is a wing nut that will be a hard sell in the western part of the state ( usually Dem but Trump country)

The ads are perfect...they look like an ad FOR him “I’m Mandela Barnes...
Leaders like AOC, Rashida Talib and Ilhan Omar are doing great things in Congress and we need more like them! We can atart by giving illegals Drivers licenses and free in state tuition for college.”

They haven’t even got to how he paid no income tax and stiffed property tax in 2018 and was on Badger Care while running for Lt. gov.

The only way he can be elected is fraud

How much did Kari win by? How much did the polls predict?
They denied her the win the night of the election... they tried to the end..
I don’t believe Kelly is winning... in the past, he has been nasty in his talk about conservatives. Surely if Kari can win big... Masters can win also. That state has had it’s full of people trying everything to stop Trump.

After the Pennsylvania primary was over this year, I never saw one ad for Dr. Oz, while Democrats advertised
heavily for his opponent Fetterman, esp. during sports programming.

You don't understand.

The second choice of almost every GOPe voter is the Democrat.
