Donald Trump's former national security advisor John Bolton accused the ex-president of lying when he claimed Friday to have a 'standing order' that all documents taken from the White House while he was in office were to be declassified.
Bolton said the claim was 'almost certainly a lie' in a New York Times piece published on Sunday.
'When somebody begins to concoct lies like this, it shows a real level of desperation,' he said.

Did you guys forget Trump was an outsider, never ran for any position in politics before? Do you really think Trump should have personally vetted every resume of every person he hired?
The fact is Trump did not these depp staters. He had to depend on recommendations from other republicans who are 99% part of the swamp. Only exception I can think of is Rand Paul.

Bolton was not a part of the Trump administration at the end and would have no firsthand knowledge of, well, anything related to what Trump did and did not do.

How the hell would Bolton know? He was dismissed by Trump in 2019, more than a year before the 2020 election ever took place. Bolton was long gone by then.
If Trump gets re-elected and wants all non-swamp people, then reject anyone who has worked in DC Federal position.

Thanks for posting that link. Section 2001.25 has a pretty good summary of what has to happen when documents are declassified. Trump has the authority to do so but the leg work is done by the security people.
This process requires re-marking the documents to UNCLASSIFIED. Trump should not have taken classified document out of the White House without the UNCLASSIFIED stamp.

Nobody in the WH would do what Trump told them to do. I believe that’s why he had such a tweet tirade at night. He was frustrated by the resistance.
I'll add another couple of questions to your list:
After 4 years of "insiders" and media people telling us President Trump never read anything how dumb do they think we are to believe he would take a bunch of classified documents to Mar-a-Lago?
Does anybody think President Trump personally packed up the 15 boxes and carried them out to a UHaul moving truck? Or is it more likely that some other government employees were in charge of packing up the documents and shipping them to Florida?
But failures by the White House staff are not a basis for a criminal or civil case against the President.
If President Trump said "I hereby declassify the documents in those boxes" then those documents are no longer classified, regardless of whether or not somebody got around to stamping them.
The staffer who didn't do their job may have some liability, but the documents are no longer classified as soon as the President issues the order.

You are mostly correct I believe. But that order from the President to declassify has to be in writing. The devil is in the details. Often the declassification includes redactions. That has to be spelled out. The security people need pretty precise instructions.
Now I believe Trump did all that. He had security advisors who know the classification and document handling system like the back of their hand. But a little confirmation of this would be nice.
And I still hope the documents that he took are all marked as UNCLASSIFIED.
Should Trump win again, he should just pick us mean old FReepers to populate his cabinet/DC. We’re hungry for victory and ready to kick communist A (before they fire up the ovens again)!
