Freepers regularly complain that all we need to do is elect the "right" people to restore Constitutional government.

Well, we did that in 2020 and yet Donald Trump is not the President.

Reliance on the people we send to DC implies we do not have a nation of laws under a Constitution but have instead an elected despotism. Its purpose is the retention of power and wealth of the despots.

I suggest readers review the Preamble to our Constitution to understand why We the People came together in the first place. Our current government long ago abandoned the purposes we assigned it.

The time is NOW to call an Article V Convention of the States. The alternative is too gruesome and horrible to risk.

Do we have 34 states (is that the number?) who would call for a convention.

I think you are right about the gruesome risk. That said, our country seems to be careening toward that gruesome outcome (and many people are just too effing stupid by choice to realize it).
