Do medications such as allopurinol or probenecid not prevent your husband’s attacks? Also, diuretics are strongly contraindicated for gout. Why not switch to a different class of antihypertensive drug?

Doc just increased his allopurinal and stopped the extra diuretic. As for why the Lisinopril, I do not know. He had some negative reactions early on to some others.

Mr rl had already been halving the diuretic and, he was not taking the allopurinal as often as directed, AFAIK. I am pretty sure he has become more compliant.
