Arizona began moving in shipping containers to close a 1,000-foot gap in the border wall near the southern Arizona farming community of Yuma on Friday, with officials saying they were acting to stop migrants after repeated, unfulfilled promises from the Biden administration to block off the area.
'Arizona has had enough,' tweeted Doug Ducey, the Republican governor of the state, who is up for re-election in November.
'We can't wait any longer. The Biden administration's lack of urgency on border security is a dereliction of duty.'
The Yuma sector of the border, 126 miles long, has seen an almost 300 percent increase in 'border encounters' - migrants arrested by Customs and Border Protection agents - this year, compared to the same time frame in 2021.
The spike is the highest recorded by any of the nine sectors: two in California, two in Arizona, one in New Mexico and Texas, and four solely in Texa

What I am speaking of is putting structure on federal land...
That’s the only issue I can see here...
I had also said in another thread ( where I was called some very bad names for mentioning that pesky constitution thingies) that they CAN ask for identification.
No ID...
One way trip to DC
On the Texas Border there is another agreement about the water
of the Rio Grande. I’m not smart enough to understand it all
without a lot of researching/reading and discussion.
The Texas/Mexico border has an agreement from back in the day
about the Rio Grande and water rights. I’m not sure how this
plays or doesn’t play in trying to set up permanent border walls

There are two main applicable international treaties. The first is the Boundary Convention (“1889 Convention”), which was signed in Washington, D.C., United States on 1 March 1889, and entered into force on 24 December 1890. The Boundary Convention established the International Boundary Commission (“IBC”) to apply the rules in the 1884 Convention between the United States and Mexico, and was later modified by the Banco Convention of 20 March 1905 to retain the Rio Grande and the Colorado River as the international boundary. The second is the Treaty Relating to the Utilization of the Waters of the Colorado and Tijuana Rivers, and of the Rio Grande (Rio Bravo) from Fort Quitman, Texas, to the Gulf of Mexico (the “Water Treaty”) (which was signed in Washington, D.C. on 3 February 1944) and the Supplementary Protocol (which was signed in Washington, D.C. on 14 November 1944). The Water Treaty came into force on 8 November 1945 by the exchange of ratifications between the United States and Mexico. The Water Treaty distributed the waters in the international segment of the Rio Grande from Fort Quitman, Texas to the Gulf of Mexico. The Water Treaty authorized Mexico and the United States to construct, operate, and maintain dams on the main channel of the Rio Grande. The Water Treaty also changed the name of the IBC to the International Boundary And Water Commission (“IBWC”) and, under Article 3, directed the IBWC to give preferential attention to border sanitation problems.
There are five other treaties that also talk about boundries, etc

We know youâÂÂre doing great things⦠weâÂÂre paying for it! We can see your fancy dashboard, remember?
Thank you for stepping aside after your fourth term. Your legacy will be a record-setting budget, political stunts that led to dead fish and dead burros, and wasting our tax dollars to help dead-ender addicts.
Enjoy your sunset!
Keep saying you donâÂÂt know me, like you used to say âÂÂ2 terms and youâÂÂre out!âÂÂ
LOL.
You need a new computer. And every single thing you said was wrong. But doesn’t matter. Have a wonderful life.
So wrong you cant even deny it, right? LOL. You could at least try your usual technique, pretending it didnt happen.
Luckily for us in Mohave County, the people will write your legacy. Not you.
And many of us are making sure the fairy tales you tell yourself arent on the record. Reality will be.
Have a wonderful final term!
Is there something wrong here? You seem angry. Would a Snickers bar help?
Abolishing ICE would be reducing government. The only thing Biden would do is repurpose their mission.
Not a fan of lyin’ RINOs. Are you?
If you’re against Kari Lake and Donald Trump, then you’re against Arizona. And there’s plenty of other web sites for you to visit where people share your views...
