What’s really a problem is that for the deal to proceed, Turkey must violate NATO protocols and become in essence a Russian vassal. That is, bankrupt Turkey led by the economic moron Erdogan is actually leaving NATO and joining a desperate Putin whose failed economy is strangling Mother Russia.
NATO is in high gear containing Russia in multiple locations. The defection of Turkey will be bad for all, but especially for Russia and Turkey.
Everybody knows that the various wealthy Arab states all visited Turkey with offers of economic salvation and were refused. Erdogan haughtily rebuffed the aid and then continued to slide deeper and deeper into economic chaos.
