Nolte: Mitch McConnell Finally Weighs In on FBI Trump Raid with Limp Statement
Breitbart ^

Posted on 08/11/2022 9:52:43 AM PDT by SoConPubbie

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) made a fool of himself Tuesday evening by finally releasing a limp and late statement about Monday’s outrageous FBI raid on former President Trump’s private residence.

Although the raid on Mar-a-Lago occurred Monday, McConnell said nothing all day Tuesday. In fact, when asked to comment on it Tuesday, he refused.

Then, at long last, Tuesday night, the Senate Republican leader — no doubt under pressure — found the time in his schedule to comment on an event that will almost certainly be remembered as one of the most corrupt acts of law enforcement in this country’s history:

“Attorney General Garland and the Department of Justice should already have provided answers to the American people and must do so immediately.”

Oh, and he “called for a ‘thorough and immediate explanation,'” according to the Hill.

That’s it.

That’s all McConnell was able to summon after the FBI committed one of the most blatant abuses of power in American history.

That’s how McConnell responded after the Biden administration spent some nine hours raiding the home of a former president, who also happens to be Biden’s top reelection rival for 2024…

But, you see, this abuse happened to Donald Trump, and Mitch McConnell doesn’t like Donald Trump, so what’s the big deal?

Fox News primetime anchor Laura Ingraham agrees that McConnell fumbled badly. “Limp and Late,” she tweeted after McConnell released his statement.

Limp & Late.

Conservative talk show host Mark Levin added, “Weak and pathetic.”

This is in sharp contrast to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) immediate statement on Monday night promising a full investigation

Again, McConnell forgets that he represents the leadership of the Republican states in Congress. Instead, he acts as though his personal feelings are the most important thing.

We need fresh leadership in the Senate.

I'll also point out that I was the first to call out McConnell for his silence at 12:56pm on Tuesday, well before anybody at Breitbart, Fox News, or Mark Levin.

Remember that Denny Hastert even spoke out against the FBI raiding William Jefferson's (D-LA) Congressional office when they found $90,000 in cash in Jefferson's regrigerator.

"It is the duty of the Justice Department to root out and prosecute corruption wherever it is found, including in the U.S. House of Representatives. I believe that all Members of the House should cooperate fully with any criminal investigation.

"That being said, I am very concerned about the necessity of a Saturday night raid on Congressman Jefferson's Capitol Hill Office in pursuit of information that was already under subpoena and at a time when those subpoenas are still pending and all the documents that have been subpoenaed were being preserved..."

One would think that Mitch McConnell could at least muster enough courage to make a similar statement about President Trump, but I guess he hates Trump that much.
So, according to Fox News, Mitch McConnell made his first statement about the raid today.

When he was approached by reporters while touring flood damage in Kentucky, McConnell said (in paraphrase):

"I'm here to view the flood damage in Kentucky. We're not going to talk about that today."
There it is... the first comment by the minority leader in the Senate was a "no comment."
I played back the segment where Sandra Smith reported the McConnell comment. He basically said:

"We're here to talk about the flood damage in Kentucky."
He didn't say "We're not going to talk about that today."

His comment was still a "no comment."

McConnell, no doubt, knew about and was cheering on the FBI raid.

The 8-8 date is sticking with me. Seems like the usual suspects tried to pin the Heil Hitler / 88 nonsense on conservatives, some time back.

Then there’s the hippy-dippy stuff.

Basically, McConnell is the other side of the Biden card...

Both are in the limp-richard card deck...

I warned you people when Trump was President about how bad McConnell was, but you’d tell me how he was great

It’s funny that folks expect Mitch to come out with anything positive to say about , or in defense of Trump.

People need to remember that Mitch’s wife resigned over 1/6 and they both despise Trump with every fiber in their souls.

Mitch is NEVER going to be a supporter of Trump. Ever.

Don’t be too hard on Mitch - he had to wait for his instructions like all the other little drones. “I was really disturbed by this and I demand answers just as soon as the FBI and the media have made them up!” Thanks for all the help, Mitch.
