My wild theory is that Trump helped orchestrate this raid … because it gave him all the political cover he needed to plead the Fifth Amendment in his New York State civil deposition today.I don't think so. President Trump didn't need an excuse to not answer their questions with the track record of the members of his staff being prosecuted for manufactured entrapment lies.

He didn't need an excuse, but the raid on his home sure as hell made his decision much more understandable in the minds of voters who might have otherwise been ambivalent (at best) about him.
