A Sarasota schools board member revealed at a recent talk that "woke" teachers are "working from the inside."
"I just wanted to give a little reassurance that here in the state of Florida, there are school board members that are woke," school board vice chair Tom Edwards said, in a video originally shared by Florida GOP vice chairman Christian Ziegler and posted on LibsofTikTok. "We are here! And and we are working… We have your backs. You need to know, we have your backs."
"And we're working in the best strategic spot because we’re on the inside," he added. "We're working from the inside."
Edwards said it was a "long, slow process" but he's "built trust" in the schools.
"And I'm not the only one in the state of Florida," he continued. "And I need to tell you, so that you feel a little better. There are coalitions forming to protect you."

Now, I shall explain why I hold the opinion I do on the matter of public education. If you could bring yourself to respond in an intellectual fashion, the readers of this thread would be pleased.
In order to do away with public schooling, a majority of representatives in each state would have make that decision. Since the Nation is roughly divided 50/50 between liberal/conservative, it is unlikely that such a voting block could be assembled in order to repeal government funded schools. Furthermore, it would not be possible to convince 100% of conservative representatives to defund public schools.
Even the Founders understood that in order for this Nation to survive its voters would need at least a basic education. As it stood then, it stands now. Parents are rarely able to provide for their children's education because they are either busy making a living for the family or are not sufficiently equipped themselves to provide quality education on their own. It was obviously prudent that publicly funded schools be provided.
The failure of our education system does not lie in the fact that it is a publicly funded system. The problem lies with liberal bureaucracy and the liberal teachers that infest the public schools. That happened because conservatives did not gravitate to those positions, but the hippies did. The liberals in education raised our children; and, conservatives really paid little attention to what was actually being taught.
To correct this situation, conservatives must become a significant presence in the schools and in government agencies. To this point in time conservatives have shunned such employment.
The rub is that the liberal school system has corrupted the minds of our young. Now all of that must be overcome so that succeeding generations get a more balanced education. That will be doubly tough given the current mental condition of the young. The young want their Utopia; and, they will destroy what went before them. Later they will discover the error they make.
Efforts need to be made to correct the problems within public education. It simply will not be possible to abolish it.
You came at me wrongly in your first reply. Now you say I argue like a liberal. I’m not arguing. Nice that you finally tried to offer a solution counter to mine. But I don’t suffer fools.

Kindly explain how that "came at you wrongly". You see, I know you will have to continue paying taxes and you won't be able to have your wish.

Beware of The Woke.
There are many Federal Departments/Agencies that need to be eliminated. Only a POTUS can do that with a willing Legislative Branch. If Trump is re-elected and then we have DeSantis for two terms it may be do able.
