I’ve expressed it many times here and other places over a span of many years.
It did not seem that important, until the past 4 years. During the 2020 election it became crystal clear.
Their attacks on President Trump make sense now that they are fully exposed concerning the corruption and collusion of the various agencies in DC.
Years ago, a (big L) Libertarian accused me of hijacking the term from Harry Brown (a Libertarian Presidential candidate). I had never seen the term used. (Term = “DownSize DC”) I lived through days of downsizing in businesses, and understand the reality of how that works or does not work.
I don’t think the US is immune to the cycle of governance that we’ve had in Western Civilization for the last 500 years or so. Jacque Barzun detailed this pretty nicely in his book 500 Years of Western Civilization.
At a certain point, people get pushed to the point where they won’t take it anymore and then it collapses. Soviet Union collapsed in 1983. I remember being glued to the TV and gobsmacked that the ‘other superpower’ had just . . . fizzled.
We’re 50 sovereign (more or less) states. Why is it such a reach to think that groups of states decide DC is essentially defunct and rather than subject their people to centralized autocratic rule they declare secession and then wait to see what happens?
Trump is raided, and this AM subpoenas went out to members of congress about Jan 6. We’ve had at least three show trials (2 impeachments and the Jan 6 fiasco) and our very own gulag (Jan 6 imprisonment).
This is what a collapse looks like in the beginning. Don’t even get me started on the notion that the Federal Reserve has lost the plot and our money is, in fact, worthless if the books on it all are ever opened.
You’ve got a puppet regime with Biden, with unseen players literally pulling his strings.
We are starting to drift into ‘Failed State’ territory.
There won’t be any courts. Members of congress and their families will be executed in the streets or retreating to something like the Greenbrier.
This is all being fomented too. DAs installed that PURPOSEFULLY release pedophiles, rapists, and murderers. Demoralization of the military and police. Etc.
Raising taxes in a recession? That sound like legislation passed by a congress remotely concerned about reelection by a fair, viable vote?
It’s only non-sense when collapse happens to other superpowers, I guess.
Seriously, if we can’t downsize the beast we’re done.
Look at it this way: Its the source of their power, control, reward system, and platform to launch endless government expansion and spending. Downsizing is the best thing we can do to take that weapon away from them.
That is true.
