Fresh off her tour of Asia, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) touted China as “one of the freest societies in the world.”

While speaking with NBC “Today” host Savannah Guthrie, Pelosi emphasized the importance of her bipartisan trip to Taiwan, that was met with threats from the Chinese Communist Party. The speaker also described China as a “strong democracy.”

My wife is generation zero from Shanghai. (That city is in mainland China.) She begs to differ with you, Nancy.

She cried all day with joy when her US Citizenship was awarded. Now she is livid that the Cultural Revolution has come to the United States. She cried about that as well, very upset that she would have to go through that all over again.

She will also tell you that communists in China are just another dynasty. There most certainly is Freedom of Speech there, but may times not Freedom After Speech.
