The "People's History" is can be found online for free these days, because it is -- like the 1819 project of the New York Times -- revisionist agitprop.

But like every good Marxist, his estate wants to be paid for it. And rather handsomely for an older book.

That the multiple millions of dead in other lands dwarfs any of the ills Zinn wrings his hands about in the US is of little interest to the Left which expects that we don;t notice anything other than what they want us to see and read.

Thirty years ago my kids 2nd grade “social studies” book described the Pilgrims as people “who came and spread disease”. I complained to the teacher. She agreed with me but also said I was the only parent to say anything.
Repeats of that happened for many years.
The fact is America's parents are to blame. They'd been using schools for baby sitting and didn't really care what they taught. There was always something more important to do.
I will say the recent pandemic caused me to start some hope for the future. Homeschoolers have exploded. It's the first good news in many years.

I frequent a history related forum, which tends toward the left. Even to them, Zinn is a lousy historian, who fudges facts and ignores anything that doesn’t fit his narrative.

Politics aside, the quality of his work is so poor, it has no place in any history class, even if you paired it with an opposing view.
