Artillery shells left over from the old Soviet Union are among the last things that Russia is likely to run out of. They have mountains of them in storage, and they hold up better than almost any other type of Military gear in storage, even with poor maintenance.

Clearly, they can no longer use them with near impunity, like they were able to for a couple of months in the Donbas. The phase of overwhelming Russian Artillery supremacy is already over in this war - has been for about a month.

The Artillery balance is likely to continue to shift away from Russian advantage, As more Western gear and Western-trained Artillery assets keep arriving.

Russia will likely burn out their tubes, and lose their skilled gunners, long before running short of rounds.

Both the Russian and Ukrainian economies will likely be going into dire straits through this Winter as well.

Many, many other things will break before Russian 152mm stocks run dry.
