GOP Senate candidate won’t back Trump in 2024: ‘I hope he doesn’t run’

The Republican nominee for Senate in Colorado said on “The Ross Kaminsky Show” on Friday that he hopes neither President Biden nor former President Trump runs for president in 2024.

“As far as Trump’s concerned, I hope he doesn’t run,” Joe O’Dea said on the radio program. “I don’t want to see him as president.”

O’Dea continued: “I think a lot of people are ready to move our country forward. So I wouldn’t support him running again.”

The construction company executive sharply criticized Biden as well, calling him “the worst president we’ve ever had.”

I can’t fault Trump for the vaccines, this was unchartered territory. He was damned if he did damned if he didn’t.

They like the SWAMP just the way it is.

If Trump gets eleceted again it will become harder for them to become multi-millionaires on their government salaries.

a lot of the folks I know who voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020 are saying they don’t want him to run.

No surprise. There are a lot of weak and stupid GOP voters who have no stomach for this fight against violent Marxists.

I don’t fault him either in the first three months, but at this point I would not be bragging about “Warp Speed”. All these lies and the hysteria started during his administration and there were plenty of dissenting voices available who have been proven correct.

I support him, but he needs to realize many don’t look at “our” response to Covid as some kind of success story.

You are truly an idiot. Have you ever thought about what is best for this country? But I believe not. Emotions are what you are going on.

Trump may not be the “Army” we want, but he’s the “Army” we have!

Arrgghhh... He's a "reach across the aisle" Republican.
Oh so IOW John McCain

Someone tell him if he reaches across the aisle, the Democrats still won't give him the reach around he expects in return.

You just don’t get do you? But then when someone calls for a younger person you bring up you bring up useless comments about the two you used as examples. There are others who could run this country as well Trump.

I agree. I know about two dozen of them personally.

None of them has any interest in public office.

And THAT, folks, is what makes Donald Trump a once-in-a-generation type of phenomenon as a populist political figure.

Dem politicians say dumb things all the time. Their voters do not have hot flashes and promise not to vote them based that. Trump says dumb things. The GOP colludes with violent Marxists in opposition to MAGA. Really, this is not a hard choice here.

Just 2 years ago the squishy RINO Senate candidate in Colorado took exactly the same approach (and he even had the advantage of incumbency) -- he ran away from Trump and ran shrieking to the left.

Someone go ask Cory Gardner how well that worked for him.

Maybe Gardner can advise this latest squish about how to lose an election. OTOH, he seems to have a pretty good handle on it already.

Still, the liberal GOPe is going to spend money on THIS guy and his highly unlikely chance to win in Colorado, even as they sit back and watch Pennsylvania and maybe Ohio and North Carolina go down the drain. The difference? Trump endorsed THOSE candidates, so the NRSC seems to have lost all interest in substantially supporting them (you're next, Blake Masters).

Senate GOP launches ads in two blue states (Colorado and -- even more LOL -- Washington!)

Exactly, people focus on minutiae. If they covered Obama like they did Trump I’m sure he said things even more outrageous or stupid.

Not the GOP but members of the swamp that say they are conservative. Donald Trump has shown who and what these swamp creatures are. That is his greatest gift to the nation. He showed how corrupt our government is in places. Unfortunately it will not be simple to clean them out.

Joe O'Dea is a Democrat masquerading as a Republican.

He even made substantial donations at Democrat fundraisers.

I do not believe that he is going to beat Bennet. Why would people vote for a fake Democrat when they can have the real thing?

There are more registered Democrats in Denver and the "Independents" always vote for Democrats by a 10-15% margin. Bennet might win even if the elections were honest. Nobody outside of Denver really counts for much.

Besides, Dominion Systems has a headquarters in Denver, Colorado. They can fix the Colorado election results to whatever the Democrat party wants. And the Democrats do not need to pretend that they need the Republicans for anything all. The Colorado GOP is sadly mistaken in assuming that they can still feast on leftovers from the banquet table the Democrats set up.

“You just don’t get [it] do you?”

Oh yeah, I get you. And your hire a youngster concept, like Bill Clinton or John Kennedy. You just really don’t want Trump to run, that’s the bottom line, and you use the hire someone younger argument to disguise your true intent. And you don’t like having your “ploy” being outed.

You are wittingly or unwittingly using the Dem’s latest tactic of accusing Biden of being too old to be Prez in order to be able to equate Trump as being too old using the same ageism argument; so Dems can pursue saying the same thing about why Trump shouldn’t be President. They are both “too old” don’t you know.

Totally negating the truth, of course, that Biden is a senile bumbling man with onset dementia, whereas Trump is a mentally sharp and physically healthy older man who has good genes (his father lived until the ripe old age of 96) and who runs circles around many a younger man. Your “need someone younger” rap is suspect as I believe you just don’t want Trump to be President again.

Joe O’Dea is a total PoS and was backed by every facet of the corrupt, sold-out, GOPe, RINO GOP party in Colorado and got nearly ALL the GOP money for TV ads and such ... if Trump had endorsed O’Dea’s MAGA opponent, Ron Hanks, Hanks would have had decent chance of beating O’Dea ...
