SOCHI. Aug 5 (Interfax) - TurkStream, which has become a key route for Russian gas supplies to Europe, is operating smoothly, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"TurkStream is a key route for Russian gas supplies to Europe nowadays. In contrast to every other route supplying our hydrocarbons, TurkStream has been operating smoothly, rhythmically and without interruption," Putin said in his opening remarks at the Sochi talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday.

The pipeline "has been supplying consumers both in Turkey and in Europe," Putin said.

"So, I believe European partners should be grateful to Turkey for providing continuous transit of our gas to the European market," he said.

Maybe you should stay away from fairy tails. There's monkeypox going around. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

Its might be dawning on Europe and by that mainly Germany, that cheap hydro-carbons make manufacturing competitive. LNG aint gonna cut it for chemical giants and they best get some more Nuclear for every day electricity

England among others is a dumpster fire right now and if Russia has one advantage, its the fact it is hard to miss what you barely had

they were targeted to limit industrial capabilities. No machinery industries at all - no military industry particularly - or pretty limited. And they’re doing it. Rosstat’s report showed speeding up production loss in a few industries, one is already dead. Non-military now, but it’s a matter of time.

It didn’t work immediately? Well, neither Iran nor North Korea became what they are now immediately.

Russia’s position as a commodities exporter had been irreversibly eroded, having been forced to switch from its main markets in Europe toward Asia.

The study said Russian imports have largely collapsed since the war began, and that the country is facing stark challenges securing crucial inputs, parts, and technology.

Russian domestic production has come to a complete standstill with no capacity to replace lost businesses, products and talent,
The hollowing out of Russia’s domestic innovation and production base has led to soaring prices and consumer angst

With the exodus of some 1,000 global companies, Russia has lost companies that represent some 40% of gross domestic product.

Since the invasion, the Kremlin’s economic releases have become increasingly cherry-picked, selectively tossing out unfavorable metrics while releasing only those that are more favorable

New figures for Russian industrial production for June show that it was significantly depressed across a range of sectors compared with last year.

For cars, production was down by 89%, while for fiber optic cables it dropped by almost 80%

Manufacturing –4.5%
Natural gas –32.8%
Cigarettes –32.4%
AC motors –12.3%
Lead batteries –21.8%
Fiberoptic cables–79.6%
Fridges–52.3%
Elevators –59.9%
Passenger cars –89%
Trucks –40%
Freight cars –34.4%
