Prosecutors await forensics in Alec Baldwin shooting

SANTA FE – The investigation into the fatal film-set shooting of a cinematographer by actor Alec Baldwin is ongoing, and the New Mexico prosecutor overseeing the case says authorities are awaiting the analysis of key forensic evidence before a decision can be made about whether criminal charges will be filed.

First Judicial District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies provided the update in a social media post Wednesday, saying her office has received only portions of the investigation from the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office.

Still outstanding is forensic analysis of the weapon, a review of data from Baldwin’s cellphone and more from the FBI and state medical examiners.

To expedite the process, Carmack-Altwies has retained a special prosecutor – retired 9th Judicial District Attorney Andrea Reeb from eastern New Mexico, who has more than two decades of experience.

“To remain transparent to the local and national community, the (district attorney’s office) will proactively disseminate information as it becomes available,” Carmack-Altwies said.

I like her style but that horse looks like it’s been near ridden to death.

Maybe give it some water and oats and let it rest a bit.

Colt has made 3 generations of SAA. I own a 2nd generation made in 1961. The so called replicas are mostly Italian like Uberti and Pieta and are not up to the quality of Colts. Then there are look alike that are internally different thus not replicas. Like Ruger Blackhawks and Vaquero. The Rugers are safer for loading 6 rounds. Colts snd replicas are not safe to carry with six rounds

I also own vaqueros. As my name suggests.

Amazing couple. Amazing shooters! Thanks for the link.

The first pic of Bob you posted looks very much like my father although Munden is 17 years younger. Same facial features, same sideburns and same build. Dad also used to favor white t-shirts like that in his off time. The likeness is quite remarkable.

The reason that was relevant to bring up is because my father had an interest in old west fast draw shooting although he never had the time to pursue it.

I own the Colt SAA in .357 that was his and was in fact the first firearm I ever saw and heard fired. I was about four or five at the time. One of a small handful of memories from my first five years. Dad also passed on his fast draw rig and another western holster to me but I’m not left-handed so they don’t do me much good.

Some of the Ubertis or Pietas (or both) are made with transfer bar safeties so they would be safe to carry with six rounds.

” Like Ruger Blackhawks”

I have four Blackhawks, a Super Blackhawh, a Bisley and a 1954 Single-Six. No Vaquero.

My favorite is the .357 with 6 1/2 barrel. New model purchased in 1973. Convertible but never loaded with 9mm.

.357 4 5/8 was purchased by my Dad in the 50’s.

“the first firearm I ever saw and heard fired. “

My first was a .22 boot-action single-shot rifle that my father took a few inches off each end.

The second was a 12 gauge at a deer camp. They made me ride in the back of the jeep with the kill.

My first was a .22 boot-action single-shot rifle Boot action? Check your headspacing if your action is so tight you have to boot it.

It was a .22 short. I only needed a boot for the LR’s.
