Putin and the Russians were telling us clearly and loudly for the past 20 years that Ukraine joining NATO was a "go to war" redline and we just blew them off with naive bromides like "any country can join NATO, and screw you Russia."
The Russians were not kidding, and neither is China.
Agreed. I just thought Putin would be smart enough to realize he could eaisly roll Biden and get everything he wanted without actually invading Ukraine. China is definitely not kidding and they see a once in lifetime opportunity to act militarily while Biden is in office
