China locks down city of 300,000 over a single Covid case

Hundreds of thousands of people were under lockdown in a small Chinese city Tuesday after just one case of Covid-19 was detected, as Beijing's strict no-tolerance virus strategy showed no sign of abating.

China is the last major economy glued to a zero-Covid policy, crushing new outbreaks with snap lockdowns, forced quarantines and onerous travel curbs despite mounting public fatigue and damage to the economy.

Authorities in several regions have imposed a range of restrictions as they struggle to tamp down fresh flare-ups driven by the fast-spreading Omicron variant.

After reporting a new domestic infection, the steelmaking hub of Wugang in Henan province announced Monday that it would implement three days of "closed control" in response to "the needs of disease prevention", according to an official notice.

None of the city's 320,000 people are allowed to set foot outside their homes until midday Thursday, the notice said, adding that basic necessities would be delivered by local authorities.

Residents are not allowed to use their cars without permission and must obtain official authorisation to travel under "closed-loop" conditions in case of emergencies, the notice said.

The city is home to one of China's biggest steel firms, Wuyang Iron & Steel Co., which exports to the United States, Japan and other major Western economies, according to Bloomberg.

Nearly 250 million people in China are now under some kind of virus control measures -- more than double last week's number -- Japanese bank Nomura said Monday.

Persistent outbreaks and hardline official responses have dampened hopes that Beijing is ready to pivot away from the type of draconian curbs seen earlier this year, when tens of millions were confined to their homes, sometimes for weeks on end.

The country recorded 347 new domestic cases on Tuesday, more than 80% of which showed no symptoms,

China is going have to absorb the blow. The U.S. suffered 1 million covid-19 deaths. The population of China is 1.4 billion and they have an aging population plus a medical system that will not be able to handle the surge in patients so make that a couple million deaths.

The only game changer is the development of a superior vaccine but that as unlikely due to how rapidly covid-19 mutates.

After watching the CCP-friendly Imperial College Marxists in London first "model" massive deaths beyond what has been seen and then urge "lockdowns: -- the quarantine of healthy people, which had not been done in medical history but did manage to eviscerate whole economies in the process and divide societies -- the game seems to have been one of manufacturing a crisis and then stoking it to lengthen the hysteria. As the world turns away from this, one finds the European and American Left begin again to chatter about such things while China enacts -- in the sense of theater -- a repetitious game of lockdowns, hoping that "monkey see monkey do" will again be followed in the West. Billionaires in China amassed greater fortunes while the "crisis" swept the world.

So? Rinse and repeat. The big lie is only as good as its number of repetitions, and the con is only effective until proven a con.

Communist China to the world: "See how serious we are? You should lockdown like us...." Again.

Given that the US population is about four percent of the global population but sixteen percent of the official Covid deaths as of today, have you an explanation why "first-world" CDC-led, "vaccine" first America managed to experience four times the mortality rate of many third world nations?

Is the data trustworthy? Is the US "protocol" including remdesevir and ventilation a contributory factor? Are the current "vaccines" in fact "superior," to use your words? Are "superior" vaccines those in which two shots and two boosters allow a president and a now-famous NIH bureaucrat to test "positive" for the virus that "superior" vaccines are supposed to block?

However one reads the data available from any official source, as of today and after 31 months of the "pandemic," Covid-19's mortality rate worldwide is 0.081 percent. Less than one tenth of one percent in over two and a half years. That's what the data actually says.

The legacy media says something else.
