Elon Musk Sounds the Alarm on Russia-Ukraine War
The Street ^ | Aug 30, 2022 | Luc Olinga

It would be an understatement to say that Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, is very interested in Russia's war in Ukraine.

NATO countries and experts see this war as a battle for democracy.

Musk Sides with Ukraine

"We cannot let Putin take over Ukraine. This is crazy," the Chief Executive Officer of the premium EV maker said in March during an interview with Mathias Döpfner, the CEO of Business Insider's parent company, Axel Springer.

During the same interview, the tech tycoon explained that someone of his rank had a responsibility and should therefore use the power and influence that is his to influence the conduct of world affairs. Musk has more than 102.4 million followers on Twitter and runs several companies (Tesla, SpaceX, The Boring Company, Neuralink).

"I think I can be helpful in conflicts," Musk said. "I do whatever I think is most likely to ensure that the future is good for humanity. Those are the actions that I will take."

Among the actions taken by Musk since the start of the conflict, there is one that has particularly irritated Russia. The serial entrepreneur decided to provide Starlink antennas, the satellite internet access service of his other company SpaceX, to Ukraine when the country's telecommunications infrastructure had been largely destroyed by Russian bombings.

Starlink guarantees secure Internet access and thus appeared as a response to the Russian communication machine around this war because Ukrainians could communicate freely with the outside world and give their version of events.

The entrepreneur also went so far as to propose a duel to Putin, in an attempt to end the war. This proposal had earned him threats on his life from the Russian president's loyalists. Putin never responded to the offer.

“How dare you bring rare earth minerals into it.”

How do you NOT consider the rare earth minerals of Ukraine?

What everybody knows is:
This is Putin’s attempt to retake the area when nations left during the closure of the Soviet Block Russia in 1991.

PUTIN WANTS THE MINES!!!
The mineral wealth of the area remains the same strategic prize that Adolf Hitler recognized during WWII.
1- Donbas leads Europe in proven recoverable reserves of uranium ores, ranking seventh in the world overall.
2- Ukraine ranks second in titanium ore reserves in Europe, 3- Ukraine ranks second worldwide in explored reserves of manganese ores,
4- Ukraine is second in Europe in terms of mercury ore reserves.
[Natural uranium and low-enriched uranium can be used as fuel for power generation nuclear reactors, research reactors, military plutonium production, and naval propulsion reactors. Highly enriched uranium can power naval propulsion, military plutonium and tritium production reactors, and act as feedstock for nuclear weapons production.]

Titanium alloys are some of the most common metals used in military applications for everything from aircraft parts to missile housings, armor plating, naval ship and spacecraft construction. Many more civil applications contribute to demand as well.

Manganese ores are vital to steel production, corrosion-resistant aluminum and copper alloys, battery cathodes, and nutritional supplements.

Mercury ores are valuable in applications including munition fuzes, missile and space guidance system gyroscopes, infrared detection and lighting.

Let’s not forget, Ukraine is a major producer of neon gas critical for lasers used in chipmaking and SUPPLIES MORE THAN 90% of U.S. semiconductor-grade neon, according to estimates from research firm Techcet.

PUTIN ASSUMING FULL CONTROL OF THESE ASSETS is an obvious shortcut to exploit Ukraine infrastructure in the Donets Coal Basin. PLUS, He wants to keep Crimea.

Transparency International ranks Russia as one of the world’s most corrupt countries, putting it 130th of 176, with a particular problem in its defense sector.

Russia is a one-man state and it’s TV news is straight up Goebbels style propaganda. Putin is old KGB & will eliminate by assassination anyone, anywhere for his convenience. Putin uses social media sourced agents just like the tactics of USSR: KGB utilized to disrupt opposition

LOL, I bet you felt differently about invading Afghanistan in October, 2001.

I bet you had no problem about US vs Iraq in January 1991.

Respectfully, I don’t care if Musk is Thomas Edison, Jonas Salk, and Werner Von Braun all rolled into one.

The Ukraine is not America’s problem. Let the Euros deal with it.

We don’t have soldiers in Ukraine.

I don't know what your sources are .

We have soldiers, generals, FBI, CIA, Green Beret, Navy Seals, biologists, chemists, CDC, NIH, WHO staff, we have specialists trying to get the ammo and weapons they received to work, and trying to train the Ukranian soldiers in their use. We have paramilitary galore over there. We have political appointees who were tasked with running the organized crime headquarters for the Biden et al syndicate.

“Why military aid to Ukraine doesn’t always get to the front lines”

EXCERPT:
Andy Millburn is a retired U.S. Marine colonel who served in Iraq and Somalia and recently founded the Mozart Group, a company dedicated to training frontline Ukrainian soldiers. He traveled to Ukraine after the Russian invasion and set up a base in the capital Kyiv.

“If you provide supplies, or a logistics pipeline, there has got to be some organization to it, right? If the ability to which you’re willing to be involved in that stops at the Ukrainian border, the surprise isn’t that, oh, all this stuff isn’t getting to where it needs to go — the surprise is that people actually expected it to,” said Millburn.

“If United States’ policy is to support Ukraine in the defense of its country against the Russian Federation, you can’t go halfway with that. You can’t create artificial lines. I understand that means that U.S. troops are not fighting Russians. I understand even U.S. troops are not crossing the border. But why not at least put people in place to supervise the country? They can be civilians to ensure that the right things are happening,” he said.

Ukraine has created a temporary special commission to track the flow of weapons inside the country.”

What Elon Musk did is provide a VOICE to Ukraine.

Whether the PEOPLE wanted help, or wanted to give up.
Whether the PEOPLE thought the government was OK or whether they thought it was run as a criminal empire.

Musk was trying to ensure their VOICE could be heard. He wasn’t taking sides. Only showing that their might be more than JUST ONE SIDE.

Its one world already, like it or not.

Maybe the US could have maintained its splendid isolation for a few decades more in the 20th century, had President Wilson not inserted the US into geopolitics in 1898, with his war on Spain, and Teddy Roosevelt kept it up with his “great white fleet”. By 1917 the US was deep in the mix and Wilson could not help going to war, because it simply could not permit he defeat of Britain. By then it was all going to happen anyway, the outcome of technology and economics, and because the US was simply too big in every sense.

The US was so big, in 1945, that it had to, by default, take over from Britain (which by then was too small) as the main guarantor of the international order. That is a role that someone will have, and you cannot just let it go to someone else, because there is no-one else acceptable to you and it absolutely can’t go to a committee. The role of maintaining the “Pax Americana” is really a tiger you are riding, that you can’t stop riding without risking disaster. It sucks but there it is.

Now, as we are all well aware, the US is decadent and corrupted and declining, and you are rapidly headed to an existential crisis, and one consequence of that is that you will be forced off that tiger. The consequences of THAT is going to pile on to your coming troubles.

But getting off the tiger isn’t going to help your domestic situation at all. Its not going to alleviate your cold civil war, or keep it from going hot.

Rare earth is desperately needed by our military.

We should have thought about that in 1950.

Hating Russia and China for being smarter is stupid.

C omitting National Suicide because of it is Insane.
