Public-health agencies in the United States declared a public-health emergency due to the increase in monkeypox cases during the past few days in several states of the nation.
In mid-July, New York City activated an information system for cellular telephones on monkeypox which consisted of sending a text saying "MONKEYPOX o[r] MONKEYPOXESP" to a local telephone number.
The messages included information on the symptoms, monkeypox transmission, and guidelines for responding following exposure.
The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has determined that the monkeypox-specific JYNNEOS vaccine be offered on a priority basis to all high-risk groups.
Within this group of people, there are those who have had close physical contact with someone with the infection, sexual relations in a location where a monkeypox outbreak has been identified, or an infected sexual partner.
It must be pointed out that the emergency declaration authorizes state agencies to allocate funds and resources to aid localities in fighting against this disease.

There will be no “contact tracing” apps automatically downloaded. No one will start development on a “Pox vax passport.”
