Brittney Griner has been found guilty in a Russian court on drug charges.
The WNBA star has been found guilty in a Russian court of drug smuggling with criminal intent.
Earlier Thursday, prosecutors asked a judge to sentence her to more than nine years in prison on drug charges coupled with a $16,590 fine.

I just read the court gave her 9 years this morning.
She hated it here anyway. This is like a vacation for her and that mean old flag will leave her alone now.

Yes, maybe her wife can move to Russia so she can visit Griner in prison.

She should be thankful she wasn't in a country that would have summarily executed her for the drug charge.

Griner said Yekaterinburg, a city east of the Ural Mountains, had become her “second home.”
“I had no idea that the team, the cities, the fans, my teammates would make such a great impression on me over the 6 1/2 years that I spent here,” she said. “I remember vividly coming out of the gym and all the little girls that were in the stands there waiting on me, and that’s what kept making me come back here.”
Maybe they should take Griner to the "House of Special Purpose" there.
While I think this is a political sentence so was the 8 years the guy got for standing outside the capital and yelling at police.
At least she’s safe from all the USA racisms and homophobias.
