He was physically removed from his office, escorted out by the sheriff — couldn't take any documents — and immediately replaced. Erased from the position.

Basically it says that The Governor can SUSPEND the State Atty, after which it is up to THE STATE to remove and or arrest him if necessary.
It was a long read, which is why I suspect some other long term freepers are just getting cranky in their old age.

Exactly, the state Senate is the only one that can relieve an elected official from their duties. Makes sense, you wouldn’t want just one person in an executive position to be able to fire an official that the people voted in.
