According to the Murphy Administration’s Department of Education, in September all New Jersey public schools must adhere to the new Student Learning Standards in Health and Physical Education. This has caused consternation among some parents and schools leaders because the new standards include second graders discussing “the range of ways people express their gender and how gender-role stereotypes may limit behavior,” fifth-graders explaining masturbation and sexual feelings, and eighth-graders defining “vaginal, oral, and anal sex.” Districts have responded in different ways, some embracing the new standards’ promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and others arguing the standards are not age-appropriate. ...
In other words, Middletown schools will inform parents of upcoming lessons; their child will not participate unless parents proactively “opt in.” ...
And last month Murphy’s DOE announced that school districts that don’t adhere to the new Sexual Health and Physical Education course standards will be “penalized,” with consequences varying depending on the “severity” of the lack of compliance. Those penalities, some have speculated, could include loss of state aid.

Some will opt-in. They will lead the after-class ‘discussions’.
America is going to Hell.
Had sex ed. as part of my health class my Jr. year in High School.
The teacher was an elderly man.
Sex Ed day he gave us 3 sentences.
“Guys, keep it your pants”
“Girls, keep your knees together.”
“That’s all you need to know about sex.”
My dad gave me “the talk” one night while driving home from some family event. He had a buddy in the front seat. I was maybe 8 or 9 at the time. Dad said “Don’t sleep with a girl.”
Innocent little me thought to myself “What’s wrong with sleeping with a girl?”
There was no discussion of sex. Just “sleeping.” It struck me as very weird at the time.
Never got the sex-ex talk, and (erroneously) cobbled it together from classmates. Disclaimer- we did watch the dreaded .Period. movie in 6th grade.
Now they are teaching erotica to small children in public schools.
Seems like no progress has been made decades later.
A worldly friend explained the mechanics to me in third grade and I remember replying to him “You’re crazy. That doesn’t make any sense! That can’t be!”
We’ve gone from the mechanics and love and caring for someone to prurient erotica taught to little kids. It is absolutely insane. The country is doomed.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
Just sayin'...
“Sex Ed” in my NYC Catholic school was one lecture by an Army paratrooper chaplain, in full uniform. He had all us 6th graders rapt attention. Lesson consisted of sex in marriage, for procreation. Any thing else was a mortal sin.
Don’t know what the girls got, as classes were separated from 4th grade on.
The unregenerate do not choose what is right if it conflicts with their flesh.
That is why our society is destroying itself.
Paganism is the worldview and religion of those that are in government/academia/entertainment.

That is awesome! What a great picture you paint. You were a lucky child.
