Kansas voters BLOCK state legislature from expanding abortion restrictions in first statewide referendum on pregnancy terminations since Roe v. Wade was overturned
UK Daily Mail ^ | August 3, 2022 | Ronny Reyes

Kansas residents voted to protect the right to get an abortion in their state, rejecting a measure that would have allowed their Republican-controlled Legislature to tighten abortion restrictions or ban it outright.

Voters rejected a proposed amendment to the Kansas Constitution that would have added language stating that it does not grant the right to abortion.

A 2019 state Supreme Court decision declared that access to abortion is a 'fundamental' right under the state's Bill of Rights, preventing a ban and potentially thwarting legislative efforts to enact new restrictions.

There was a popular book among Leftist circles titled "What Is The Matter With Kansas". The claim was white voters, especially working class and rural, voted based on their values to the determinant of their economic self-interest. This result seems to show that thesis is false. Kansas seems to be all over the place politically electing some hardcore conservatives but leftists, for example, Katherine Sibelius.

Regardless of how you feel about abortion, this is how it should be, the voters of the State of Kansas, voted and want to allow some level of abortion, this solution is not my preference but it’s a much better way to decide the issue than 9 people in black robes making the decision for over 300 million people.

I bet if you remove just one of the three largest cities, Topeka, Kansas City, or Wichita the vote would have won.

Just like here in Indiana, remove a couple of urban areas and the rest of the state would hardly ever put a D in office, certainly not a radical one.

Infanticide is going to be legal in Kansas. The single digit I.Q. state.

Thats true anywhere. Remove the top 20 urban centers in the United States and we would be an overwhelmingly conservative country.

I’m OK with women having the right to an abortion provided the unborn child isn’t harmed in the process

The problem is that this will be a referendum on all state ballots in 2024 and beyond until every state has votes to legalize it. SCOTUS needs to reverse the decision, this is going to kill R chances going forward!

Absolutely Correct. I worked for a company based in Kansas. Culture is very different than in Texas. But like all states, the Cities are also a seat of insanity. Rural people are a lot more sane and a LOT more independent. Reality smacks those living away from masses of people in the face daily.

… and !

How much of that is due to fraud in those areas.

Louisiana got a short reprieve after Katrina washed away the New Orleans power base.

Orleans at one time was busted for having 7,000 ish ghost students.

The Dark Side thinks its winning, and even convinces others of its 'victory', as if sunshine can be stolen.

Yet Kansas is the "Sunflower State", so we know the truth. Those special DAVID Seeds... they're everywhere. "An American Original."

Humblebees. They know that they don't know everything already.

The pollen power of ingenuity.

A sunflower head can contain up to 2000 seeds, so for every one that the DS cuts down... evil has nooo idea what it is doing!

Genesis 32:30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life (nefesh, life soul -- by extension, lineage) is preserved.

Can't look at sun!? The view is from the reflected light. Not a problem.
