Immediately after her arrival, China's Defense Ministry said Beijing would launch a series of "targeted military operations" to counteract Pelosi's visit to Taiwan.
China's People's Liberation Army Eastern Theater Command said it would conduct a series of military operations around Taiwan. It said it would conduct joint air and sea exercises around Taiwan, and conduct long-range, live-fire drills in the Taiwan Strait.
Taiwan's foreign ministry said the PLA's demand that aircraft and ships from other countries do not enter Taiwan's sea and airspace "has seriously affected international trade and legal order."
Yu Jian-chang, deputy director of the Department of Legal Affairs at the defense ministry said at a news conference: "Such an act is equal to a blockade of Taiwan's airspace and sea space, which seriously violates our sovereignty and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea."
Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs assured the public that the island's inventories of crude oil, natural gas, and coal are all under safe levels of inventories that could suffice domestic need and will not be affected by the live-fire drills to be conducted by China.
The island's official Central News Agency, citing transport minister Wang Kwo-tsai, said Taiwan was negotiating with Japan and the Philippines to find alternative aviation routes but ships would be able to avoid China's drill zones.

All three understand that the diminished U.S. military cannot sustain a “near peer” expeditionary war effort in even one distant theater longer than a couple months, maximum.
When one goes, all three will go.
Our middle east wars have given us a false sense of accomplishment. We won’t be fighting wars where we can spend a year safely building up our forces in the region before we attack on our own time table.
All of our enemies now have IRBMs on mobile launchers, just for one example of why not.

And what does the term "democratic values" mean? Is it like "our democracy"?

Is that as valid as “Russia’s final warning” last January and early February when our “experts” said the Russians were bluffing?
I am convinced that this whole thing was Pelosi doing something ‘spectacular’ in order to cement her qualifications as a potential Vice President. The MSM will shower her with accolades for her ‘bravery and defense of democracy’.
Then they will remove Biden for medical reasons.
Then newly President Kamala will appoint Pelosi as the new VP as was scripted.

If it’s conspiracy, you know you have active agents looking to apply next steps and countermeasures to get their end result.
If it is simple incompetence or stupidity, that will likely repeat itself, but in a relatively random way rather than to targeted and intentional effect.

Is this “no consequences” warning like Putin’s “proverbial” warnings in January and February? I can believe Pelosi and the boobs in the White House are stupid enough to disregard these “proverbial” warnings twice in six months. It’s rather depressing to see such flippant attitudes here on FR towards the playing of nuclear brinkmanship by the fools and traitors in our current regime.
