Vulnerable Democrats won't say if they support Manchin bill, raising taxes during recession

Vulnerable House Democrats will not say if they support the Manchin-Schumer Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, or if it is wise to raise billions in new taxes during an economic recession.

The nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) revealed in an analysis last week that the Manchin bill, which would spend $433 billion on climate change initiatives, would increase taxes by billions of dollars, including on middle-class earners.

According to the JCT, Americans making less than $200K per year would have their taxes increased by $16.7 billion. For taxpayers earning between $200,000 and $500,000, the bill would increase taxes by $14.1 billion.

The bill was introduced just days after the gross domestic product (GDP) contracted for a second consecutive quarter from April-June, signaling the economy had entered into a recession.

Perfect. An incompetent White House creates the worst inflation in 40 years and their answer is to raise taxes to pay for the inflation.

Let's see. John Doe's paycheck has been reduced by 20% because of inflation and now his paycheck is going to be further reduced by the coming "inflation tax."

I hope John didn't vote for the incompetents who are causing this.

Well, I didn't vote for them, but I do have to do a RMD from my retirement savings based on 1/1/22 values, and those are down about 30% since then.

Oh, well. Just another Joe Biden tax on normal people.

Never mind the ‘vulnerable’ house democrats. The house will be ours. It’s the senate-more imperative. How many can we gain? The MSM is avoiding the real issue and avoiding the subject.

If the house is not ours it’s over.

This means nothing. Fox News is not a medium of record for any significant group of Americans, certainly not for the constituencies of these leftist Democrats (as opposed to the rest of the Dems who are Marxist revolutionaries).

I’m so old I remember Brandon and the Dims promising to raise taxes on only the rich.

First, we need a strong republican Congress in 2022.

Then hopefully President Trump will be our president in 2024.

Enough of this far left policies and there remains a lot of elections from the 2020 Presidential race as uncertifiable results and therefore uncertifiable elections.

CBS News reported 100 days before the midterms that they estimated that Republicans will take control of 230 House seats after the midterms. So it will be a net gain of 16 from the current 214 seats. Fox News thinks only 20 Democrat house seats are “vulnerable.” This is the main stream news narrative that Republicans won’t gain more than 20 House seats in the midterms.

The House is important if in the 2024 presidential elections, none of the candidates receive 270 electoral votes. Then each of the 50 states contributes one vote to determine the presidency. So Republicans should have control of 26 or more states at the time of the 2024 Presidential election.
