The United States conducted a "successful" counterterrorism operation against a "significant" Al Qaeda target Ayman Al Zawahiri in Afghanistan over the weekend, a senior administration official told Fox News.
President Biden on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. E.T. is expected to address the nation from the White House on the operation.
"Over the weekend, the United States conducted a counterterrorism operation against a significant Al Qaeda target in Afghanistan," the senior administration official told Fox News Monday. "The operation was successful and there were no civilian casualties."
Two intelligence sources tell Fox News Al Qaeda leader Ayman Al Zawahiri was killed in the CIA drone strike.

I don’t care if it’s an election year stunt or not. If it is, so much the better! That means future presidents will have an incentive to kill *more* Islamists.

I seem to recall in early 2002 that it was leaked to the NYTimes that we could track the terrorists through their cellphone use. Within an hour of the paper hitting news stands, every AQ cellphone went dead.

Certifying Zawahiri's death certificate was long overdue. Now when does the autopsy get released?
I am interested in the detailed description of his injuries, preferably both highly ballistic and extremely excessive.
