Thanks for the example of defeatist mentality that seems so common in our nation today. Based on your perspective that shipping is complicated, and you need all kinds of "special facilities" and it would be hard to insure ships crossing the ocean during a war, it must be a miracle from God that the people running factories in China managed to become a world power by making cheap stuff and shipping it all over the world.

Instead of just filling up tanks with LNG they had to develop an entire ecosystem of factories, trucks, cranes, containers, packaging, and management systems to be able to deliver just about everything you see in a modern American store. Computers, air conditioners, tools, toasters, and so on.

How on earth did they figure it all out? How did the get insurance for the ships? Where did those big cranes that unload the ships come from?

We're just doomed. We could never figure out how to ship some liquified natural gas to Europe. Maybe the Chinese could help us out?

Pay attention to what I wrote - not what you think I wrote.

The LNG facilities to do what you suggest, they don’t exist. They are not going to magically appear in the next month or two.

If you think that is “defeatist” I don’t know what to tell you. It’s a matter of logistics, and the numbers don’t scale. Europe uses a LOT of natural gas.
