The entire text is available at the link. Very detailed. No laws shall be passed that violate the Constitution's protection of the "General Welfare," which includes our right to adequate self-protection as We the People see fit.

So do the millions who own those “assault weapons” now have to get rid of them? If it is, that seems to be a taking of property through legislation as well as a Constitutional right.

The law as written says it is exclusive and greater than the US Constitution?

So, do they list all of the exempt weapons just so they can pass a bill removing the exemption?
I’m not an economist like AOC, but I would think that even Ruger would be shut down by this. I don’t know what kind of margins they operate on, but semis have got to be a good chunk of their profits.

Damn, why don’t people know this stuff. Pre-ban will be grandfathered in same as 94 AWB.
Next move is to take away those, but would require another democrat-led bill.
To: frogjerk
This is their favorite thing to do now, include a severability clause.
And nobody stops them.

The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United StatesThey are going the route of the General Welfare clause - but in this clause it is stating Congress has the power to lay and collect taxes, duties , imposts and excises which are all monetary powers. This bill has nothing to do with raising or spending of money.

Meh, even mainstream outlets such as
USA Today are says its odds in the Senate are zero.
This is just grandstanding by a Speaker who'll lose her gavel in a few months.
To: Trump20162020
Ted Cruz says it has zero chance of passing the Senate.
Hope he is right.

Re BS and The severability clause.
It is ubiquitous in legislation and contracts. Failure to include a severability clause is tantamount to malpractice.
