AP) — A Russian operative under the supervision of one of the Kremlin’s main intelligence services has been charged with recruiting political groups in the United States to advance pro-Russia propaganda, including during the invasion of Ukraine, the Justice Department said Friday.
The indictment of Aleksandr Viktorovich Ionov reflects what U.S. officials say are ongoing Russian government efforts to meddle in the American political process, to shape public opinion and to sow discord and dissent on hot-button social issues.
In this case, the authorities say, Ionov from 2014 through last March recruited political groups in Florida, Georgia and California and directed them to spread pro-Russia talking points

Not sure what groups in Atlanta Ionov was involved with. Is Stacey Abrams associated with the Uhuru movement or Ionov?

The Uhuru movement is associated with the rioters that burned Ferguson, Missouri, and Eric Holder got a lot of bang out of that.
He wasn’t a registered foreign agent while he was recruiting Americans to be trained abroad.
Not to mention Russian meddling in California to promote secession.
And Gorbachev came over here to promote the Greens that have been sabotaging the US economy ever since with their Climate bull crap.

“Agents of a foreign power must register. Otherwise illegal.”
Agreed.
However, it is not sufficient to show that somebody is representing the ideas and interests of a foreign government, it must be proved they are being paid by that government to pursue its interests.
Enforcement is wildly selective and varied to the extent you gotta have somebody dead to rights. Or it’s thrown out.
After they spend all their money on lawyers and lose their job.
After the Kremlin...after the Iranian, North Korean, Chinese and Cuban equivalents.
Failure to register as a foreign agent, etc.
