China's threatening response to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's possible trip to Taiwan indicates the communists could be eyeing an invasion of the island sooner than had been expected.
That belief follows Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday warning President Joe Biden not to "play with fire" over Taiwan, Axios reported, citing a Chinese readout of a phone call between the two leaders.
Even The Associated Press reported that Xi's tough language suggested Chinese leaders might believe Washington didn't understand the seriousness of previous warnings about Taiwan.

There are good reasons to believe that China will move against Taiwan sooner rather than later. It won’t be like 10 years from now, almost certain to begin the next year or two.. Since the necessary buildup for a cross channel military invasion would be easy to spot from satellite surveillance. it wouldn’t be a surprise attack. Non traditional cyber attack followed by rapid air and missile assault, insurrection from infiltrated operatives on the ground.

Isn't that something? I never believed Russia would invade Ukraine until it happened. Look at the unbelievable carnage and world-wide hurt. And now the prospect of a Chinese invasion of Taiwan? It is just incomprehensible.

They would have the best chance under a weak, compromised Biden/Harris administration than any likely successor.
The Communist Chinese are far, far less concerned with Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan than they are that their puppet in the White House could be removed at any time. This is why the communists are preparing to move on Taiwan sooner rather than later ... they need FJB to be the U.S. COC when they do so as to heavily influende — if not effectively neuter — the U.S. response.
Can’t happen, at least that is what I was told right here. Most Americans have no real understanding how the ChiComs think. For instance, why is China Hell bent on taking Taiwan? How has 40 years of hypernationalist rhetoric changed the processing of information internally? Both of these are internal questions. We in the West think in terms of external issues and encumberences. To the ChiComs, this is NOT what it is about. They have long went down the path of race, political and cultural superiority, just like the Japanese and Germans before WWII. And just like Japan and Germany, they are going down the same road. They have studied both for 70 years to better understand their mistakes.
